NORRISTOWN, Pa. -- Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid's son pleaded guilty Monday to gun and drug charges stemming from a road-rage dispute.

Britt Reid, 22, pleaded guilty to a string of pending charges -- including carrying a firearm without a license, a felony -- as his trial was to start, a Montgomery County court official said.

Prosecutors will seek six to 14 months of jail time, while the defense will seek probation. A sentencing date has not been set.

Britt Reid, 22, brandished a handgun at another motorist in suburban Philadelphia on Jan. 30, the same day his brother was arrested for a drug-related traffic crash.

Defense lawyer William Winning said afterward his client admitted what he did and was remorseful.

Besides the firearms charge, Reid also pleaded guilty to simple assault, possession of an instrument of crime and drug possession.

Misdemeanor charges of making terroristic threats, making a false statement to law enforcement and possessing drug paraphernalia were dropped (in an earlier version of this story, The Associated Press incorrectly reportedly that Reid pleaded guilty to the misdemeanors).

Reid told Judge Steven T. O'Neill he was being treated at the Malvern Institute, a program for addiction and psychiatric disorders.

His brother Garrett Reid, 24, faces a mandatory minimum of three days in jail after pleading guilty last month to drug and traffic offenses.

Garrett Reid admitted to using heroin the day he ran a red light in Plymouth Township and hit another car. He apologized in court and said he was attending a residential rehabilitation program.

Both sons lived at their parents' home in Villanova at the time.

Eagles spokesman Derek Boyko said neither the team nor coach Reid planned to comment on Monday's plea.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

Ahh, this is minor stuff! Incidents like pulling guns, doing coke, robbing stores, throwing batteries...all that stuff is normal behavior up in Philthy...

Hey at least he is not wasting tax dollars dragging this out in court. We will see what happens hopefully the kid gets into a real rehab program and gets himself squared away and becomes a productive citizen

I hope he gets into a rehab program but that doesn't mitigate pulling a gun on someone, etc. He should get some jail time so he knows what it would be like if rehab doesn't work. BTW: Don't all celebrities (and that's what this kid kinda is in Philly as the son of Reid) attend rehab & how many fall off the wagon. Sorry but it upsets me. It just seems like the law/courts waiting til some innocent person gets killed in a car accident caused by one of these jokers.
