Did you guys hear them say he definitely will be in the ring of honor and POSSIBLY even more (HOF)? They always call great players future HoFers, they disrespected Witten right there

Witten is steady, consistent...but we must not confuse the Hall of Fame...with the Hall of Very Good. And that has happened here a few times lately. Witten is the Art Monk of TEs...minus the Super Bowl rings. Which is why I think Witten will need to win a Super Bowl to get in.
7x(8?) Pro Bowl, should of been another this year, 3rd all time in TE receptions, soon to be all-time leader in DC receptions. He's defo HoF bound no doubt.bbailey423;4712189 said:Because the truth is...right now....Witten is NOT a HOFer. He probably needs to win a ring. How many TEs are in the HOF? we shall see. He does not get in the endzone. He is not explosive. Would you consider Witten in his prime better than Gates in his prime? We are going through a passing era. And so everyones numbers are inflated. Laurent Robinson had more TDs in one season...than Micheal Irvin EVER had in one season. So that is proof of the era of football we live in. And there were plenty of coaches and voters who kept Art Monk out for the longest. Simply put...coaches did not fear Art Monk. So if Witten gets in by just piling up stats...it is going to take a whole lot of convincing and lots of years.Shinywalrus;4712208 said:Nonsense.

Besides, in the end, the judgement of the sportswriters, et al, will be that it was Romo who made Witten so great.
Wow! Just wow! I have heard it argued that Eli Manning could not even get in if he retired right now. I mean Eli does not have to win another playoff game. But I have heard it argued that he needs a few more seasons of consistent performance to get it...yet you think Witten could retire RIGHT now and get in?kmd24;4712323 said:It's a tough row to hoe for TE's.
