Talking to some folks in hallway here. Sounds like Matt Johnson and Barry Church will open at safety for these veteran OTAs.

The most understated part of the process in becoming a championship team is developing players and getting starters out of your Day 3 draft picks.

Well, I too an excited about this. At the very least, we will finally gain understanding of what we have at Safety. I hope the results are positive but even if they are not, we will at least know what needs to be done there.

Sometimes the homer vs. realist crap gets alittle too extreme imo. Because of Johnson's injury issues, its definitely normal to feel skeptical, but theres nothing wrong about being excited about Johnson's potential either.

with any team developing those guys is a major thing. but when you have cap issues it's even more important. if these guys can be solid players there thats a huge thing

From everything Jerry has said publicly I don't see how Allen was told he would start.

I think Church is going to come out starting. He looked like he had made a turn in his development before he got hurt. Even the cowboys said when he went down they lost the hitter of the secondary. That physical presence. I think Will Allen is going to end uop starting FS with Wilcox taking over at some point.

If Erik Karlsson is already playing in the playoffs for the Senators, then Church better be 100% by now. 75% achilles laceration during a locked out shortened season and he is back for the playoffs.
