Ex-NFL Scout Bryan Broaddus joined G-Bag Nation on 105.3 FM The Fan on Thursday. Here are some highlights from the interview.
On Cowboys draft strategy:
“They’re a little bit at the mercy of the board in what direction they might want to go. They brought several players in the last couple of days, kind of get an idea where they’re at. They’ve got some first-round guys in there in the mix, they’ve got some third-round guys in the mix and they’ve got some guys that they can pick in the fifth and sixth round as well. So they’ve kind of got a little bit of range in where they might be and what direction they might want to go in. … They’re a little bit at the mercy (of the board) when the draft starts but they’ll get a gauge of it pretty quick where these offensive linemen might go. Once that happens I think they’ll be able to make a plan off that.”
On possibly drafting UT safety Kenny Vaccaro:
“There’s a lot of teams and guys that I’ve talked to, some other teams that are behind Dallas that believe that Vaccaro won’t get past 18 if that’s the case. Now you have some at the bottom of the board that might be willing dance up there and if he’s on the board or him or Tavon Austin, somebody like that, that could be a point where the Cowboys could say ‘Do we feel comfortable?’ … Do you determine that, ‘You know what, we can grab a second-round safety if we could go back in this draft.’ ”
