I got bashed when we drafted Cooper Beebe (which I was happy about) but said there was no way he would be anywhere ready to supplant Brock Hoffman and take over the C1 position. People don't understand how hard it is to play the Center position. Hardest position on the Oline by far. Cooper Beebe might eventually become our starting Center, but it won't be anytime soon or possibly not even this year.

PS: Kudos to Brock Hoffman for improving himself through hard work and training. Double kudos to Cooper Beebe for following Hoffman's steps and improving his skills as a Center.

Sounds like the same stuff they said about Biadasz. I hope he is better but I have my doubts.

Hoffman is better. He has a slightly better anchor and more get-off at the snap of the ball. Plus, he's determined. He's got the will to fight on the field.

Players grow with their own strengths...not just a college ranking. That is what happens in this sport.
100%. I hope he has grown. I just want to see the games and see how he does.

We saw Hoffman for a couple of games last year and he looked pretty good I thought. It sounds like he understood he had a chance to win the starting job and worked his butt off to be able to compete and win it. Good for him. I just want the best guys to take the field. If that means sitting Beebe because Hoffman is the better player, so be it.

But we have to see all these players against real competition before we get fired up about anyone.

And by the way, if Beebe is struggling with shotgun snaps then he is too much of a liability right now. A bad snap can destroy a drive or result in a turnover. That is a part of the Center's responsibility that has to be automatic. Maybe Beebe will pick it up in time but if that time isn't now, then sitting him is the best thing for the team.

Did Parsons get ranked too low at the start of this season?

The competitiveness of the defense now will help him as a linebacker as well. That will improve the play of Parsons. It will as well affect the strength of the offense with developments of the offensive line. Stronger depth....let's watch it.

True.....but just like everything else we have to see it play out.

Although some here think that I'm not as positive as required, the one thing I don't do is criticize players before I see the product on the field

I agree with you and I haven't criticized anyone either. I want to see it play out and see how well he is doing with my own eyes. I just said the that what they said seems to be the same they said about Biadasz. Let's see if it's any different once the games start.

We are nearly two weeks into Dallas Cowboys training camp out in Oxnard, California and the players are in full swing.

The competition has been fierce. Especially after the pads came on. Contrary to popular opinion on social media, this Cowboys team is one of the deepest and most talented rosters in recent memory.

There will be tough decisions to make when it comes time to cut the roster down from 90 to 53. Jerry Jones, Stephen Jones, Will McClay, and the coaches will have to release talented players who can contribute heavily for other teams.

"Brock Hoffman has started off on the right foot in the center competition since the pads have come on. He's stronger, he's more technical and he's more communicative than he was a year ago at the line, and you see that translating into on-field confidence with himself and Dak Prescott. Cooper Beebe is still very much learning the position and has had some inconsistencies with shotgun snapping, but you see the technical prowess that he brings as well. But as it stands, Brock Hoffman is the leader in the clubhouse." — Nick Harris, Cowboys' official website

This is the elements of change...but still strengthening, not missing strength in change. Interesting to this fan

Brock Hoffman is a true bad ***, not like Biadasz. Hoffman is a brawler and fights to the whistle. Loves to punish his opponent and pancake you.

+1 ......yep some automatically assumed Beebe was the day-one starter. He never played center except for a few plays. Hoffman on the other hand has extensive college experience and has been working his butt. He sees this as his window. I would love to see him not only start, but play well enough to seal the position and let Beebe focus on replacing Martin next season.

Hofman seems to have the starting center job locked down. This is excellent for the Cowboys because it gives us deepth at the G/C position. Beebe should be the heir apparent when RG Martin retires.

"I like the competition, and it's real," he said, according to the Cowboys official website. "I like that competition. I really like the makeup of the veteran and the depth and the youth that we've got in that offensive line. I feel as good about the offensive line as any time that I can remember."
