It turns out that Hoffman has turned out to be an outstanding pick up. It's very impressive what the front office has done with the offensive line when you look at the backups of Hoffman, Bass, and Richards.
What pick? Hoffmann was scrape from someone else’s practice squad. Performing adequately for a game or 2 is much different from what happens once DCs have enough film to dissect your weaknesses and apply them!

He was picked up off the Browns practice squad.

Richards might have potential as a starter; Bass also; but that is all
We need at least one tackle and one interior guy; frankly a center who will upgrade Biadasz

Hoffman's ceiling is that of a backup OL. That's it.

Which is fine. You need decent guys to fill in here or there. But if anyone is thinking this guy can slide in an be a legitimate starting OG for us, well, your homerism is in overdrive.

I’d like to let go of Tyron and Martin. As classy as they’ve been neither brings any nastiness and neither has ever won anything. Go cheaper and younger. TJ bass was very impressive when he got opportunities to play. Zack is a shell. Bass was the best run blocker on the team this season.
