I've been reading things around the webs on signing the former Sooner. He's been a decent safety in the NFL. And started for the Jets last year. And Rob Ryan is familiar with him from his Cleveland days. And he would be a really cheap get.

Completely inappropriate response. It's Free Agency and the OP has asked about a perfectly legitimate player at a position our front office has explicitly said we are looking for upgrades.

Why do people insist on inserting these snide little pictures, even when they don't make a lick of sense?

Yep, I think Pool makes a lot of sense. He and Elam would definitely be plug and play.

Take it easy. I was just posting that because of the stink it cause in the other thread.

I'm with you. I think Rob Ryan gets his starting Safety combination from the 2009 season to jump start this season.

Plus Pool is young (27), should come relatively cheap and already erased (or at least alleviated) concussion concerns from a very strong '10 season with the Jets.

In other words, "Please ignore me, I'm just being an ***."

Why does your sig fail to list Tyron at RT?

I've been calling for Pool since the season ended, even before the draft. IMO he's the best fit for the Cowboys needs. He's got experience, he's willing to tackle, he's able to cover and play the ball in the air even if he's not the greatest at it. He's affordable and knows the system and was healthy for most of last season.

The only problem with Pool is his history with concussions. I forgot to mention that in my first post. That obviously hurts him. But he was pretty healthy last year for a good Jets defense. 5 INTs total and 22 pass deflections the last 2 seasons.

I remember really wanting Pool in the 2nd round that year, but he went 8 spots too soon and we got Kevin Burnett

It apparently is the hip thing to do around here. That and to jump on anyone who says anything remotely negative about the team.

"Oh did you see the new undrafted kicker we brought in to compete?"

"THIS AIN'T MADDEN!!"
