Top draft QBs duke it out… Often these kinds of hyped one-on-one match-ups tend to fizzle, but for those who missed it, last night’s Louisville at Kentucky game featuring QBs Brian Brohm of the Cardinals and the Wildcats Andre’ Woodson, the top two QBs for the 2008 draft, was more than worth the price o admission. The duo combined for over 600 yards passing and 6 TDs in a shootout that wasn’t decided until Woodson hit WR Steve Johnson with a 57-yard TD pass with just 28 seconds to play to give Kentucky a stunning 40-34 upset win over Louisville. On the night, Woodson connected on 30 o 46 pass attempts for 276 yards and 4 TDs, while Brohm hit on 28 o 43 tosses for 369 yards and 2 scores, but had one picked off.
Meanwhile, Arkansas junior RB Darren McFadden did nothing to hurt his status as arguably the #1 overall prospect this year as he ran for 200 yards against Alabama; alas for McFadden and his Razorback teammates it wasn’t quite enough as the Tide also pulled out a late win 41-38 with a last-minute TD in a game which see-sawed back and forth all night.
