Broncos beef up offensive line with Louis Vasquez
Posted by Michael David Smith on March 12, 2013, 4:53 PM EDT
APThe Broncos have improved their offensive line by taking a starter from an AFC West rival.
Louis Vasquez, who started all 16 games at guard for the Chargers last season, has signed a four-year, $23.5 million contract with $13 million fully guaranteed, according to Mike Garafolo of USA Today.
Vasquez said just before free agency began that he was planning to explore every option, and his agent noted that the Chargers had been given a chance to extend him but chose not to. Now Vasquez has discovered that the best option for him was in Denver, and the Chargers will have to fave Vasquez twice a year.
The Chargers acquired Vasquez in the third round of the 2009 NFL draft. He started 54 games in four seasons in San Diego.
On our list of the Top 100 NFL free agents, Vaquez was the second-best guard and the No. 50 player overall.
