Broncos fan here,
Lots of good matchups in this game that can go either way I believe. I am going to be attending the game and am very excited because it is my first game this season I have been able attend.
Dallas does have a great running game and I don't think anyone can argue that. You have a large powerful line and 3 good backs but only 1 of those backs may be available to play. I don't think that we will underestimate your ground game and will stack to box with 8 men most of the game. Out of all your running backs Felix Jones scares me the most but it sounds like he will be out this game. You would be concerned with the ability of your o line to stay fresh and effective later in the game due to the effects the altitude will have on them.
Denver has a much larger front seven compared to last year since we have switched to the 3-4. Our linbackers and lineman have been getting great push and the only weakness I see is quick backs being able to get outside against our larger and slower OLB. Our two cornerbacks and safties have been sound tacklers in the run game.
Whoever controls the line of scrimmage will control this game and win I believe. It should be an amazing battle all game long with our front seven or eight when Dawkins is in the box vs your power running game.
Whitten is obviously a weapon that should concern the Broncos and I believe that we will make it a priority to stop him from killing us over the middle. He is your best weapon in the passing game and may be in for a big game.
I think that we match up very well with your wideouts with Champ and Goodman. They are both very good cover corners and will be left to cover you WR man for much of the game so we can focus on stopping your run game and Whitten. This may leave some decent 1 on 1 matchups but I dont expects Romo to take too many chances especially with Champ on one side of the field.
Do not underestimate the Broncos pass rush. I think that our OLB match up well against your tackles and Doom and been able to get pressure all season long (six sacks in the last two weeks). The Cowboys may have to look to go to 2 TE sets to try to give Romo some time.
Broncos offense vs Cowboys defence
I believe that we will try to establish the run and that the Cowboys will put their main focus on stopping the running game. We have 2 backs that have looked good so far this season and both are entering the game healthy. Our line in many ways is the opposite of yours. We are smaller and athletic and still employ are infamous zone blocking scheme and we will cut at your knees at the line all game long. While we may not be as effective as running the ball as the Cowboys are does not mean that we do not possess a formidable running game. We have the best run blocking TE in the league in Daniel Graham. If we are able to run block well I see your defence getting worn down as the game goes on in the altitude.
Our passing game has been unspectacular but also mistake free and effective at controlling the clock. Orton does not do well under pressure but thank god for our teams biggest strength which is pass blocking. Clady and Harris are phenominal pass blockers anong with rest of our line. Orton for most of the season has had all day to throw the ball. We have several weapons in the passing game that the Cowboys must acount for. Stokley, Marshall, Royal, and Gaffney are all good NFL WR. Stokley and Gaffney have seemed to be Orton's favorite targets but do not sleep on Marshall and Royal for they are both our most talented players in the passing game.
Your pass rush is good but not a great match against our O Line. Ware is a monster and will demand double teams most of the game. The game really depends on if Orton can make effective smart decisions against your defence and continue to not turn the ball over.
McDaniels and Nolan have put together impressive game plans two weeks in a row against bad teams. I am interested to see what kind of game plan they will have in store for the Cowboys.
I do not see this game being a blowout. I expect to see a very physical, competative game that will be decided in the fourth quarter.
Cheers to what is hopefully a very entertaining, physical, and injury free game this Sunday.
