Are you a closet Falcon fan??

No closet. I live in ATL & like the Falcons. It is just a "support the local team thing" though & frankly it is nothing more than a " well hope they win but if they don't I'll be fine anyway!" thing.

They stink! A good coach can't hurt.

Denver has pretty much a 3-4 year window when Peyton came on board. 3 years gone and nothing to show for it.

2 terrible divisional round losses as being one of the top 2 seeds and that debacle against Seattle.

This.

He will be 2 Months off 40yo this time next season.....

Manning is cooked and has been struggling to hit the side of a barn since Week 13.

No way he is coming back to Denver next season.

I guess they will get a new coach and a new QB to start rebuilding because I don't see Peyton coming back

Elway is definitely not screwing around there. I like what he's doing. When he sees a change needs to be made, he does it and doesn't think twice. He's smart to not try to keep everyone in place for "one last run" because the window has closed on this incarnation of the Broncos.

AFC West wide open next year now!

Chargers and Chiefs will be licking their lips at this situation in Denver!! Raiders are just the Raiders though sadly and who knows what they do!!

I get that too.

To be clear if the Cowboys play the Falcons I hope for total Cowboys domination & Falcons humiliation!

Yep, If something isnt going to get you where you want to go why stick with it? Bold moves are what most are afraid to make. Im no Elway fan, but gotta like the bold moves. Can Tebow after making the playoffs and he went and got Peyton. Big upgrade. It didnt bring the prize to Denver, but it got them way closer than they would have ever gotten with Tebow. Now he's making the next bold move and I bet he doesnt hire a trainee for a HC.

I agree with this. He celebrated a playoff win with Tebow, then kicked him to the curb because he knew that type of QB can't bring him a trophy without massive luck. He doesn't play around.

They had a decent running game and Manning got worse.

Huge difference in having a decent running game and having an elite one like what the Cowboys had this season for once. Peyton has averaged 38 pass attempts per game in his three seasons in Denver. That is WAY too many passes to be throwing for a 38-year old QB. Compare it with Romo this season, who is down to the lowest average of his career - 29 attempts per game, with a run-heavy offense.

Elway had Terrell Davis to finish his career, Romo has Murray now, and Peyton needs a top RB too

Guess Elway saw what seems obvious, Denver could only go as far as Manning could take them. Fox was not the catalyst----he was along for the ride just like him. Another DC available to the NFL. Looks like they will be starting over.

As a Chicago native and long time Cowboy fan, the Bears have done nothing worth cheering for in the last 30 years. One Super Bowl blowout in 2007. That's about all there is to talk about. Bear fans still cry about 1985. I wasn't even alive.

That's a shocker. But yeah, agree with the above. Elway doesn't mess around.

Should Marinelli bolt, Fox would be the best possible replacement
