Paxton misses Patriots game to care for his wife

Broncos long-snapper Lonie Paxton stayed back from the team’s playoff game Saturday against his former New England Patriots to help care for his wife Meghan, who is having complications in her pregnancy with twins according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post .

Paxton wanted to reach out to Broncos fans after he and Meghan have been overwhelmed with well-wishers.

“He really appreciates the tremendous outpouring of support out there,” said Paul Sheehy, Paxton’s Littleton-based agent.

Really? You would e mad if a player stayed home with his pregnant wife? The title wasn't enough for you to infer an NFL player, much less a long snapper, would probably have a good reason for doing so?

No doubt. Over the last couple of years some fans wanted to replace the Cowboys long snapper. Sometimes reality escapes people.

Some things are FAR MORE important than sports or work.

If not for complications, then I would question why he's missing the game.

I've seen many a NFL player get on the first thing smoking AFTER a game for the birth...or hopping a red eye to make it to a game AFTER the birth of a child.

I wouldn't bash him for missing the game, but if it's a normal pregnancy and anticipated birth, then I would expect someone to record the birth and for him to attend the game, perform his duty, and then rush home to be with his wife.
