Simeon Rice (John Leyba | The Denver Post)
The Broncos released defense end Simeon Rice, who was a major disappointment after being signed to a one-year, $3 million deal six days before the regular season.
Rice was largely ineffective in six games this season and was inactive twice because of lack of production.
Rice, 34, came into the season with 121.5 sacks, second most of active players, but he did not add to that total while with the Broncos.
"I didn't work out," coach Mike Shanahan said today. He said he may try to fill the roster spot before Sunday's game at Kansas City. Also, Travis Henry (knee) and John Lynch (pinched nerve neck) practiced today and are game-time decisions.
