Unless Gregory regressed, isn't he an upgrade to what the 49ers now have starting at LDE? Isn't it that bust from the Raiders?

Ferrell. Maybe, but they have 22 second rounder Drake Jackson who is in development.

So, he wasn't cut?

Didn't read all 14 pages of the cut thread lol
he was about to be waived and found a trade partner at the last minute.. But yes he was supposed to be cut they literally were about to cut him and found a team that gave them something is better than nothing I mean if you think a sixth round pick in exchange for a 7th which isn't really much it's better than nothing and from what I hear he's not playing Sunday night he won't be on the team long enough to get a grasp of the defense I guess...

If he's an upgrade at all then why don't the Broncos keep him I mean I like to hear these things from fans like he's something special but there's a reason now he's being cut and he I'm sure they're eating some of his money his bonus money to do this trade I mean if he's any good even as a backup or rotational player why are they not keeping him is my big question?? Maybe they know something no one else knows that's usually what happens with teams they might suspect he's about to be suspended again or maybe he's done some things in the locker room or outside the organization maybe showing up late to meetings not making meetings who knows causing trouble so they just cut him if the dude had anything left why would you eat his contract just to get rid of him I mean if he's good substitutional guy or on the other side why would you just not keep him on the team it's not like the Broncos are gonna do anything good this year you might as well get what you can out of them..

Ferrell is nothing special. Drake, as of right now backs up Ferrell.

I don't know how good Gregory is right now. He might suck to high heaven. But the Gregory I knew and watched, is far better than the crap the 49ers now have at LDE. That's all I was saying. He may not be that player anymore.

Absolutely. However, Ferrell is a solid dependable player. Who shows up and doesn't let drugs control his career.

The Gregory trade is a nothing trade. Dude has the mental strength of a cow.

I agree. I'm just worried about this game, and the overall season. Gregory could be a maniac, but if he helps the 49ers this season, that's all that really matters to them, right?

Sure, but Ganjory has proven that he simply cannot produce. Reminds me of Josh Gordon, very talented but his own worse enemy. I've seen/heard nothing about Randy that comes even close to suggesting that he's ready to give up drugs for his career. Think about it, it's now legal and he's still a mess.

This can be true. But it doesn't hurt the 49ers to try, right? They either come out ahead, or it's status quo.

Gregory is a wild card. He has the talent, but maybe not the brains. He can perhaps be a bad locker room influence too. If he plays to his potential, opposite Bosa the 49ers pass rush could be pretty good.

I doubt he'll play Sunday night. but who knows. I don't think he will help the 49ers with the Cowboys defensive plays or plans because he wasn't here the last two years.

I would bet the Cowboys know how to play against him though.

It is weird that SF would trade for him considering how ineffective he has been. And the Broncos began limiting his snaps on defense despite how bad their defense has been. The Broncos were willing to just cut him and let him walk so something went wrong over there.

Here's the thing I don't watch every Dang snap or other people's games all day long to worry about who the left defensive end was for the 49ers and I have no idea what gregory's been doing because apparently not enough to stay on a team that now has to eat his contract and got almost nothing but a bag of chips for the guy he can't be doing that well.. I think me coming to my own conclusions just by what's going down with the trade says I'm probably closer to the truth than you are because the dude is being cut basically I mean if he was useful at all they could have used him as a rotational backup and a team like the Denver Broncos lets you go for a cup of coffee there's something wrong with you.. Sure maybe the 49ers coaching staff can get more out of him and maybe because he's surrounded by better players who knows but I'll tell you right now I wouldn't trade any of our pass rushers for him..

Dude, I swear, if Jerry Jones slapped your mom you’d write a 500 word screed on why she deserved it.

You don't get a ring for being there. You're either a champ or a chump. Clearly both organizations are starving for a championship but somehow everyone is on the 49ers jock even though they are chumps like us.
Wrong. We're the Browns.
