Why would the cowboys sign Brooks when he could not even make the Vikings team that has T. Jackson (worst QB in the NFL) as their starter? I know the Vikings have not been the best at evaluating QB's -- they have Jackson starting -- but they cut this guy and no other NFL team wants him.

There must be better choices out there...Brooks, really? Will someone please give me some information that will make me feel better about this move.

He reminds the staff of Brad Johnson. Meaning he is very smart and coachable, which is a very sought after intangible for this Offense.

Those qualities sound like requirements for any player and position on the field. In a QB does this mean he has not historically made good decisions, but we believe that we can correct this issue.

So this is probably an insurance policy given how old our backup QB Johnson is today.... I guess Bollinger will not be active on gameday unless someone is hurt that week.

Do you guys see Bollinger replacing Johnson next year? I was hoping for Chris Simms as the backup.

Here's my take. It has already been decided, by Johnson or the team, that this is Brad's last year in Dallas/the NFL. Thus, the team wants to carry a 3rd QB so that he can have a year and entire offseason to be groomed in the offense and be ready to go as the backup next year. As to why that guy is Bollinger, I can only assume that they like some of his skills and how they could transfer into Dallas' system. I can say that Bollinger has never played on a team with this many offensive weapons. The team must think they can develop him into a longterm reliable backup to Romo so lets see if they can. He is still a young guy with some experience and his stats are not that horrible considering the teams he has been a part of.

I think Brad is 41, so most likely this is his last season.

Thanks for the insightful post. Brooks is 28yrs old...so not that young...but being with the Jets for 3 yrs and then Vikings for 2 yrs probably earns him a little bit of a pass.

Its young enough to backup Romo for the next 5-6 years if they deem him capable. If not, they will move on to someone else. My main point is simply we should wait and see how he preforms in this offense with these weapons before declaring bringing him in a bad move.

Beck is a good backup in Miami...too bad it is Miami.

Oh well, I will start to root for Bollinger, now that he is a cowboy.

I hate that thinking.

Zach Thomas got cut by the worst team in the league, he must suck!
Marc Colombo was a bust in Chicago!
Ken Hamlin got his head beat in by a parking sign, hes done.
Leonard Davis coudnt hack it in Arizona!

Im gong to trust our management.
