I can certainly understand your angst, but Brown's problems have been the mental breakdowns. These are more easily rectified than the physical breakdowns.

really he has only had 1 big mental breakdown. Its just the fact that teams can have the matchup every down because of our defense. Its a problem to me and offenses are going to continue to dictate to us.

Hopefully we keep making them kick field goals.

Yes, he gave the Cowboys the Superbowl but was rewarded by Al Davis. Brown was an average player but he deserved everything he got.

He is a good guy.
Yes, he got everything out of the ability that he had, but he was a limited player that nobody but Al Davis would pay big money.

Dallas didn't get Carson Wentz or Paxton Lynch. They got Dak Prescott much later.

Dallas didn't take Jalen Ramsey. But they got Anthony Brown much later.

Dallas didn't take a defensive lineman early. But they got Maliek Collins a bit later.

And, of course, Zeke happened. Maybe Jaylon Smith, too. Not fair. Those are supposed to be the impact guys.

Anthony Brown rounded out what might be the best draft in team history.
I can honestly see every pick this year having a role on this team next year. Gathers being the biggest wild card IMO.

Hell, if Rico Gathers can become a good blocking TE and red zone threat, then this would all just be amazing
With the way this draft has gone, I'd be completely amazed if Rico and Jaylon aren't both all stars very soon.

I want to see him against the best. He is learning not to peek at the QB and to shadow the receiver..(a habit he developed at Purdue)...but where he was picked in the draft, I would say the Boys got a huge bargain.
I agree, picking him was for special teams at best for his rookie year. Him doing what he is doing is pretty cool. He's started and has not lost us any games. I can't wait for Mo to get back but Brown has outplayed his expectations by a long shot. Either we got extremely lucky with this draft or our scouts have gotten much better. Or maybe both, maybe we got lucky because our scouting department is getting really good. But looking at this draft you got to think that out scouting department is getting the job done because we hit on almost every pick. Even if Jaylon doesn't recover, this is a solid draft. If we lost a 2nd rounder cuz of Jaylon's nerve but picked up a CB in the 6th round that can be an above average starter and get the job done then it helps ease the pain of losing that 2nd rounder. We're getting more out of Brown this year than our last couple 2nd rounder combined.

Good job Jerry, I don't compliment Jerry that much but either he's gotten better at drafting or he's hired better people to draft, but either way if Jerry was responsible for all the crappy drafts we've had then he's responsible for this one.

I don't know man, Jerry the GM might be winning me over, never thought I'd say that, but I'm pretty impressed with him this year.

Hargreaves has come on lately and Ramsey may make it based on draft position. I don't know any other rookie CB playing better than Beown though. The pass breakup early last game was a flash play

What's funny is that people graded this draft bad because we didn't address quarterback or defense early lol. That was one comment I saw throughout post draft reports.

I think its cool Dak and Zeke are getting love but people have slept on the fact the Cowboys have found at least 4 quality starters and if Jaylan can step on the field then that's 5 AT LEAST.

Not worried about Brown regressing the last quarter of the season. He's being targeted like crazy right now, but that will settle down, because he's more or less in good position all the time. The blown coverage v. Jackson not withstanding.

I do have concerns about what we'd do, though, if Brown or Scandrick gets nicked. Until Mo comes back, it compromises our defense significantly.

Could Anthony Brown make the all rookie team this year? He has my vote. I remember a rookie CB the Boys drafted in 1991 named Larry Brown, who made the all rookie team.

They both were drafted in the later rounds, and Larry was MVP of Super Bowl XXX.
Neil O'Donnell was our MVP in SB XXX ;)

Anthony Brown is more talented than Larry Brown.

Larry Brown was picked in the 12th round back when there were still 12 rounds in the NFL draft.

Larry Brown should have split the contract he got from the Raiders with QB Neil O'Donnell because O'Donnell made him the Super Bowl MVP by lobbing him two easy interceptions.
Have to agree.
