i think it's the smart move, but it makes me wonder what we could have gotten him for in a trade and if it would have made a difference in our 7-game losing streak?

Thoughts?

Seriously stash?

No. He will never be a Cowboy and that is a good thing.

I didn't see him in the Steelers game. I did watch him in the Bengals game. His numbers in the Bengals game were not as good, but he seriously got no help. The O-Line didn't play well and he had 5 drops from his receivers that were big pass plays. The Browns have little in the way of WR's.

I think it's the right move for the Browns. They have to see what he can do and he's probably getting at the point that practicing isn't going to progress his game much anymore. And if they continue to lose and don't like Manziel, they can dump him and either pick up Lynch or Goff.

Yeah, I have to wonder if not trading him is ultimately a missed opportunity.

Maybe if they had, they wouldn't have lost 7 straight and they might actually be in the race?

Maybe they would now have Romo's eventual replacement?

I find it hypocritical that this team can say they don't want Manziel's drama and then continue to prop up and make excuses for Greg Hardy.

I guess we'll see what he does or doesn't do from here on.

The Browns are out of it.

McCown out-played Manziel, but he is older and got hurt.
With a very real shot at getting a QB near the top of the draft this year if they want one, they need to know what they have in manziel.

It's a simple as that. For sure Manziel did not beat our McCown.

McCown had 11 TDs, 4 ints and 93 QB rating.
If anyone would've helped us win one of those games, it would have been him, not JFB.

If Jerry did do the insane and drafted him, I would bet good money that we would not have gone 0-7 with him filling in.

He's never won a game as a starter so it's really hard to think that he would have won anything here.

A scarmbling QB doesn't really make sense in this offense anyways. The OL is so get that a dropback guy is a much better fit.

Smart decision. Probably not what the coach wanted but they need to see if he can play or not.
