Bruce Campbell-T- Player Feb. 27 - 4:28 pm et

A league source tells Profootballtalk.com that "multiple teams" have a fourth-round grade on Maryland LT Bruce Campbell, despite his awesome Combine.

Another source described Campbell's 2009 play on film as "terrible." It's worth noting that during Campbell's post-workout interview Saturday, the NFL Network showed numerous clips of Campbell missing blocks and getting overpowered at the point of attack. NFLN's Mike Lombardi, a former Raiders employee, predicts Campbell will be drafted by Al Davis at No. 8 overall.

I'm not a campbell fan and there's probably a half dozen olinemen I'd select before him, but a fourth rd grade seems a bit extreme. Could be that these sources are trying to plant a seed of doubt in hopes of grabbing him somewhere in the first half of the second round.

cant we put all these Campbell threads into 1 Campbell thread.....

Bruce Campbell still considered 4th rounder despite outstanding Combine

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports despite the eye-popping 4.78-second 40-yard dash generated by non-donut-eating Bruce Campbell in the donut run and his 34 reps in the 225-pound bench press, Campbell isn't a lock to be taken in the top ten.

He's not even a lock to be taken in round one.

One league source tells us that multiple teams have applied a round-four grade on Campbell, based on evaluation of his college game film. Another league source described Campbell's game film as "terrible."

The dynamic immediately brings to mind Jets linebacker Vernon Gholston. The Jets fell in love with his physique and his non-football feats, and they ignored a set of 2007 game tapes in which he disappeared for long stretches. The thinking by many -- that a player destined to be great in the NFL is always great in the college game -- has been confirmed by Gholston's NFL career to date.

I wonder if he can hit.

If he does bust at OT, I wonder if coaches will ask him to drop 20lbs and try to play him as a DE.

W/ his athleticism, it might be kinda fun to watch.

totally true, this is how you gauge a player
its true you look at his measurables, speed, size, agility, running, but bottom line what did he do at college and in the game, how did he play

those are the 2 things you put together,

example, chris johnson he ran a great time at 40 at combine etc, but he produced on the field

you have to have both,

I honestly would move him to DE.

Fourth Round?

When did the Raiders trade away their first, second and third round picks?

:laugh1:

Me too.

But I think he's looking at all that money at OT.

Well, it wouldn't be an immediate switch...he'll get his OT money. I'm talking about couple of years down the road if he doesn't cut it as an olineman.

I believe if he sheds 20lbs he could also shed a good tenth of a second from his 40.

You'd be looking at a 6'7" 290lb situational DE who can run in the 4.6's.

Or an above average blocking TE who'd be a huge redzone target.

......but who knows what his hands are like.
