First, I completely understand that there can be much more to what is going on with a player behind the scenes than fans are aware of. So, I will concede at the outset that the coaches are probably handling the situation exactly as they should.

But, for a moment setting aside any behind the scenes reasons for how Carter is being handled, I just want to say that the young man needs to play. He needs to play FULL-TIME. I don't care if he makes some mistakes. He has the ability to be a monster talent. In terms of pure athletic talent he may be the best LB we have had since Thomas Henderson.

You know there is a Carter thread... Right on the first page. Actually I think there are two.

Your 1st and 2nd paragraphs conflict with one-another.

Either you trust that the coaching staff and accept that they may not be seeing what they want from Carter in practice, in film prep, etc, etc OR you don't care and you want Carter out there no matter how good/bad he is in training/prep.

Which is it?

I actually didn't pay attention. Just had it on my mind this morning. But I appreciate your thread monitoring :) Why did you post in this one?

I don't agree Perry. I conceded that the coaches are "probably" handling the situation correctly. So, what I'm saying is that if there are no ATTITUDE issues at work, if it is just a matter of a player making some mistakes on the field, then YES I would believe the coaches are making a mistake. Let him grow. He has unique athletic ability in my opinion. Just an opinion.

I was letting you know so perhaps youd delete this one and join the conversation in the others. No need to get pissed at me because you just made a thread without even looking to see if there was already talk on the exact same subject.... Or you can just continue to make a thread about every little thing that pops into your head. I was just trying to be polite and let you know.

I think the 1st part of what you said dictates the 2nd part. I agree I think Carter will develop into a quality player and while he has had his time cut he is still playing he is still getting the chance to prove himself to this staff. It is not like they benched him and he is not seeing the field at all. I have a feeling he will be back in the starting lineup and chances are soon but I do think Kiffin and Marinelli know how to develop and motivate a player to get the most out of them.

I wasn't mad at you. Probably responding more to the "right on the first page" part of the statement. :) And if it would be better to delete it or merge it, then I hope one of the mods will do it. As you say, my fault for not taking the time to check on it first.

Sims and Durant both suck so you might as well keep Carter on the field anyways and hope that, as he gets used to the scheme, he gets better.

I get the feeling that there might be a little desperation and scrambling happening during games with the defensive coaching staff..

So we're seeing a few knee-jerk moves going on with personnel. Instead of scheme adjustments, they're making player adjustments.

I could be wrong- it's just the feeling I get when I watch what's going on.

I don't think you're too far off on that, actually.
