25. Dallas - Cameron Thomas EDGE San Diego St.
The Cowboys drafted three front seven defenders in the top 100 last season and might be in the market for more pass rush in next year's first round. Whether lined up inside or outside, Thomas has been nearly unblockable this season for the Aztecs, currently leading college football with 72 pressures (just ahead of Michigan's Hutchinson and Alabama's Will Anderson). His lateral quickness, nose for the football and non stop hustle are traits that will translate to the NFL.

Big defensive draft for Philly.

I like Dallas going Edge.

He reminds me of Trey Hendrickson but with better run discipline. Good but not great athlete who can be a starter one day at DE. Gets by on hustle/good first step and is a strong player. 2 way edge player.
#1 Edge rusher for PFF from 11/13/21

Admit you never heard of the player.

Admit you never heard of the player.

No I read about him before. But was more of a day 2 prospect. Was surprised Brugler had him in the 1st.

When reading about Matt Araiza I found out they had another NFL level prospect

Never heard of the guy, but if Dane likes him for us I like'em for us.

Maybe looking at him will change your mind.

Wow, he has Devin Lloyd way up there. Not expecting that.
I was hoping he would fall to Dallas even though some here said too many dime packages to get a LB in that spot. I think they could use Micah as a chess piece and move him around while keeping Lloyd on the field. Appears to be irrelevant based on this projection.

Just watched a wee bit of Thomas and my thoughts of him playing for Dallas are:
A) Natural fit at LDE in 3 or 4 man front.
B) Strong vs the run
C) Has quickness on Edge for his size

Taking Thomas in the 1st would mean DLaw is gone or moving to RDE, and Randy is gone. This guy has a motor and I'd be cool with him if they took him...if he shows up in Senior Bowl practices.

Watched him against Fresno St. and Boise St., he's basically a 3-4 DE 5T type who can set the edge in base packages then move inside in nickel/dime. Not a full time edge rusher or DT but given the lack of well rounded DT's in this class the next best thing is a guy like this who can be a dynamic interior rusher in nickel/dime, which teams are in the majority of the time anyway, while bouncing around in base.

Long story short, he'd be a really solid pick in the 20's.

Found a vid.. #99..

Looks pretty good. Quick off the line, good with his hands, gets guys off of him, can play inside and out.

Competition is bad but he looks the part.

Don't like the pick. This guy I don't see anything special about him. He lines up a lot at DT and he isn't that big to that in the NFL.

And a Center going 7th overall.
I wonder if that would be some kind of record

Would be the highest center selection since 1968 (Bengals took Bob Johnson of Tennessee with the #2 overall pick). Patriots took Pete Brock with the 12th overall pick in 1976, and the Browns took Steve Everitt with the 14th overall pick in 1993.
