Brutal Loss By A Fingertip.Who Loses Like That?

Serious question, who else in the NFL loses games like this? I cannot think of a single team in the NFL that routinely finds the most bizzare ways to lose games like we do.


I would rather have lost by 30 than lose by a fingertip...........Brutal way to lose.


Reminded me of the Skins game a couple of years back when we threw a TD pass in the final seconds to win and Alex Baron got called for holding and it got nullified.

Like I said, who else in the NFL loses games in a more bizzare fashion than Dallas?

It was a wild game of inches.

starting from the seattle playoff game, we have found so many different ways to lose. i don't know how we have all not lost our sanity.

ravens - succeed onside kick then screw up the ending / 200+ yds rushing and lose
2011
giants - romo missed austin. then FG blocked
eagles - romo injures hand in meaningless game
cards - we ice our own kicker
detroit - 2 pick 6s, blow a 20pt+ lead
jets - punt blocked and returned for td, blow a big 4th quarter lead
2010
Commanders - season opener - winning td called back due to penalty, and the choice play
saints (thanksgiving) - roy williams fumble
2009
giants - need i say more
2008
ravens - last game at texas stadium

I was thinking the same thing but you know what? It doesn't matter. Neither does coming back from 23 down to take a lead.

A loss is a loss is a loss. And we lost.

It's interesting, but I feel like a blind man who is now seeing for the 1st time.

And the problem is Garrett.

He's not doing his job........

If he was we'd have receivers who knew their routes. Tony has little confidence that players like Dez, Ogletree and even Miles will be where they are supposed to be and or make the proper effort on passes thrown. And it really effecting his play.

If he was, Felix Jones would not be on the 53 man roster......

If he was, we wouldn't have made yet another time management decision. Yes he made another and no one will notice yet the decision ultimately cost us our best chance to win. 2nd and 1 with over a minute left and 3 TOs was a running down. We didn't just need a TD. We needed to leave little time for Manning to counter with a FG drive.

I have little doubt that had Romo connected with Ogletree on that endzone throw, that with a minute and 2 TOs, Manning gets them in position to beat us at the gun.

And of course our chances of converting the 1st with a run is very high in that situation. At that point, whatever happens happens. But if we do go on to score, there's little chance Manning gets a good opportunity to counter.

I am glad someone put these together, .. I couldn't name them all.

How long has it been since the Skins blocked our game winning FG attempt, picked it up and returned it, ... and then we had a facemask penalty on the return that put them in range to kick the game winner?

OMG, what a nightmare. that was at the beginning of the Romo regime, under Bill. Maybe that was the start of it all.

The sad part is that the Cowboys usually pulled off the miracle wins. Remember the MNF vs the eagles when we came back, then some fluke play had the eagles kicking for a chip shot winning FG but they bobble the snap. Allowing us the snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. That used to be expected around here.

Could not have said this better. I am still stunned our coach is the only one who does not seem to know what to do there - it is heartbreaking.

I'm still not 100% sure Dez was out on that play. Sure his fingers were out, but with a ground level shot the rest of his hand might have hit first. It's natural when falling like that to lead with you palm, not your fingers. From a top down view there is no way to know for sure. I figured though that there was no way the ref was going to consider that fact.

It is suppose to be indisputable to overrule though and without a ground level angle there isn't a way to be that sure IMO, that the fingers didn't hit out a mili-second after another part of the hand landed in the endzone.
