What is the story behind Bryan Broaddus? I see many articles/chat sessions by him on espn dallas and listen to GAC occasionally. I don't understand the fanfare for this guy. I do understand he was a nfl scout but he was fired, correct? Not sure how much stock to put into his comments.

Agree he is a troll but does have some decent points/insight from time to time. Something to read....

I actually like Broadus. No dcfanatic didn't steal my account.

He is media now. So, like anyone else in media, its not necessary all his comments are going to be 100% correct. But he is more knowleageable than average media guy.

But its not like he is right on everything or is gold standard either. He has said he is not influenced by the ESPN reporters/radio guys, but seems like he has been somewhat. Heck Nate Newton is also falling in line with someo of the media rantings sometimes.

Me personally, I think he is right on quite a few things, but on some you have to take it with a grain of salt if it does ryhme with stuff you have seen or heard.

Failed NFL scout. Now internet troll.
If ever I wanted dcf back it's right now. He could not handle criticism at all. But if you criticize his media pals he was even more intense. This one would have been business for the old Reaper.

That's a classic.

I like broaddus, & his insight is usually on. He has missed here & there but he is solid.

I think this is about as far as we can carry it. As a former scout, Broaddus has knowledge of how the process works, what teams look for, etc.

If you concentrate on that aspect of what he says, he can give insight other media can't. That makes his opinion more informed, but it's still just an opinion and can be faulty.

I think he's knocked more than he deserves to be, but part of the reason for that is that people don't think as a former scout his opinion should be faulty. In that sense, he's held to a higher standard.

Have not seen any Dallas Cowboy Fanatic post in awhile, was he banned ?

If not , what happened to him ?

Any guy who has won multiple jobs over a number of years as a scout knows more football than anyone on this forum.

Isn't that the case w/BB?

By no means does that mean a given opinion is right...but they have a broad and deep foundation.

And let's give up the sneer, "failed NFL scout" He was hired multiple times. There is a ton of career movement in the NFL at all levels. Losing a job is not some ultimate verdict.

My sense is that he was too opinionated for his superiors...not that his opinions were wrong.
