Gumble is awful. Probably the worst play by play guy I've ever heard. He does sound like he's reading a script. He has sounded like it from the get go. Especially noticeable when he was reading off the starters for the teams. When he does the plays his voice is completely flat. No variations at all. Plummer hands off...flea flicker...incomplete. No excitement or anything. There's a lot of dead air as well. He has no chemistry with Collinsworth. He's an embarassment to play by play guys. I pray to God they fire Gumble soon, otherwise no matter what happens in a few weeks against Atlanta, I know I'll be bored out of my mind watching the Cowboys game.

Gumble sounds like he lost his nads in 'Nam.

Gumble would have run like a school boy before going to 'Nam. He is absolutely atrocious.

Gumble made a funny comment though when Green missed Larry Johnson in the flat.

"That looked like Eli to Tiki." lol

I think they got into a groove in the second half.

Gumbel has put some inflection into his diction, and Collinsworth must have had a cup of java at the halftime.

They might end up a pretty decent team.

I used to highly dislike Collinsworth. With his time away from doing color commentary, I think he's actually gotten much better. I usually look forward to hearing his comments on Inside the NFL. He seems to provide more insight and less off-the-wall comments. It's as if he remembered he's a former NFL player and not a former stand-up comedian.

Gumbel's voice takes a little getting used to I keep expecting some deep, philosophical point to follow his comments after watching a few of his Real Sports shows.

I think Gumble's voice is perfect for narrating an NFL Films segment, but in play-by-play, you need to get excited every once in awhile to set the mood, after all, it's the hard-hitting, fast-paced NFL, he's commentating on, not golf

I still place Gumbel as the Today Show anchor, so even Real Sports seemed strange to me.

Collinsworth was all over Herm's jock - fine, but Herm's got KC playing classic "Dungy Ball", and I fear it won't be long til pre-LT "Marty Ball" comparisons start negatively cropping up.

I'd like to see a little more Tony G action myself.;)

I cant watch the game so i have no idea how bad Gumbel is but like people have heard me say a bunch of times here before, Chris Collinsworth IS THE MOST WORTHLESS ANALYST, COMMENTATOR IN HISTORY!!!!! I rather a billion times hear Theismann rant about the Deadskins than hear Collinsworth talk about anything. He is absolutely worthless

I was shocked at how many times Gum-ball totally botched the down and distance and he even botched the score one time! sounded like either he didn't care or he was struggling with the play-by-play duties,,,
