Any chance we could start a letter writing campaign NOW to make sure Gumbel is gone from NFL network?

I just watched the Cowboys Packers, and I'm tired of hearing that Mike Mcarthy thinks Marion Barber is the heart of the PACKERS offense.

Bumbel just doesn't have what it takes.

Either that or he just doesn't give a nickel about football and doesn't bother doing his homework. In that broadcast Chris Collingsworth is a great announcer in comparison with Gumbel.

Agreed. Kornheiser's at his best when there is someone across the table who he can yell at. Tirico has a pretty good radio show, but he's not ready yet for primetime television, imo.

Tirico's "o.k." to me and I like Jaws, but I definitely agree with Kornholio being ousted. Felt the same way about Dennis Miller. They both were meant to bring levity and humor to the broadcast but neither did so IMO. They just dumbed it down. Just go with 2 announcers like all the other games.

As for Gumbel, he's even worse than Kornheiser. Certainly they can upgrade for someone else.

I've had no luck in locating a phone number or email address for nfl network, but I think the most effective would be a barrage of individual phone calls and letters.

Incompetence has to stop.

Jaws might say some outlandish stuff, but I have to say, his analysis is usually spot on. I think he's great as a color commentator.

Get someone better than Tirico doing play by play and get rid of Kornheiser and you'd have a pretty damn good broadcast team.

I disagree that Miller dumbed it down.

On the contrarian, he was always trying to pass off hip and lofty references.

The half of the audience that got just dismissed him as a dumbash. The other half of the audience that did not "get it" shrugged and just dismissed him as a dumbash.

When Miller made jokes he always chuckled at them in the hope that would be a cue for the audience. Dandy Don was funnier in one hour than Miller was his entire time at MNF. Heck, I even would prefer the Hammer to Miller. Heck, even Kurt Warner's wacky wife would be better than Miller . . . .

I just don't think Madden will ever be the same now that Favre is gone. I expect him to weep when his name is mentioned.

I am certain that NFLN realizes how inept Gumbel is...

Although his Real Sports on HBO is good, after seeing him interview personalities live and hearing him on the broadcasts, it is obvious he is a product of his writers. He can barely put together a comprehensive thought on his own...

I am sure he will be replaced. He is your typical "Face Reader"...

Here's my input, right to the point so they actually read it.

An honest assessment here. Bryant Gumbel is the worst play-by-play announcer I have ever heard. Cowboys-Packers is all you need to listen to. Marion Barber the heart of the PACKERS offense? Rick Romo? "appears" to gain a first down" repeated probably 35 to 40 times in that game!? Bryant Gumbel has delusions of adequacy when it comes to play-by-play duties.
