Hos - no word on us trying to interview or talk to Bryant McFadden? Cost too much for us?

We still have to fill Henry's spot, unless were gonna draft a corner.

and he's probably looking for a place where he's the obvious starter, and that aint here...

he'd be the 4th CB here

with 9 (and likely 11) draft picks, getting a CB is a given IMO

Certainly he wouldn't be behind Jenkins. Right now I could see Newman and McFadden at 1 & 2 with Scandrick playing the slot and Jenkins potentially being trade bait in 2 seasons.

this, however, is true. Especially if we can find more Scandricks (see a theme here!?)

Jenkins is eons more talented than McFadden is. McFadden is a guy your always looking to upgrade, Jenkins can be a bigtime CB.

We didnt draft Jenkins in the first rd to be trade bait.

Maybe. But if so thats a good thing. Everyone cries one week about "keeping old guys around too long" and then when they might go with young guys, people cry about that too.

I wont be surprised if a vet is brought in as a 4th guy, but I also wouldnt be surprised if the 4th/4th CB is somebody we draft + Alan Ball

Bodden and Mcfadden are going to want big money. They are both in the prime of thier careers and will want to start and get a big paycheck.

I'm fine with Newman,Jenkins,Scandrick and Ball as it stands now. I want Springs because I think he could be great value because of his talent and price.

Jenkins is gonna be a sweet corner when he develops a lil more, i would like to bring in one more guy that already has the experience and not have like 3 or 4 corners with a lower amount of knowledge for the game. But i still think it will be T-New and Jenkins starting next year.

Mickey said on Talking Cowboys that from what he hears around the Ranch, the coaches believe in the kids and the plan is to let one of them take over. It sounded like the plan is for Jenkins to have first crack at it unless Scandrick just beats him out. But even then, Jenkins would be outside for all the nickel sets.

He said the coaches think Ball is ready to break out, too. So we might not sign any corners except a very cheap insurance-policy vet.

Translated: We are going to continue to save money only for Ware and stay status quo no matter how much we might need a few holes filled via FA.

Or, the translation could be that we hit on two draft picks and these guys are more than talented enough to be outstanding players for us.

I'm really, really high on the four corner on this roster.

We know what Newman is. The only concern there is injury. But you know what? You've got to worry about that with everyone. Newman is still one of the best though.

And amazingly, Mike Jenkins was a better cover guy last year, I thought. Say what you will about his tackling or that play where he got lost, but that dude can flat out cover. I really like his upside.

Scandrick really flashed too. Everyone is justifiably high on him. So there are your top three guys.

But Alan Ball is a guy I really like. I would have rather had him on the field than Anthony Henry for a big part of last season. He's got to be careful about the penalties, but I think there is great upside there too.

You just need another guy, and I think you ought to be able to draft someone for that gig. I wouldn't want to spend significant money on a guy who is going to be your fourth or fifth corner.
