Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot were the best offensive rookies in the NFL, last year; now that success is translating into more than just accolades: jersey sales.
The Dallas Cowboys have long been heralded as "America's Team," and their young stars are reminding everyone exactly what that means. While Dak and 'Zeke won Rookie of the Year and Offensive Rookie of the year awards, respectively, and became two of only three rookies to be named to the Pro Bowl, they were two of the three highest jersey-sellers for rookies.
Now, they are not just topping the charts for new players, but the entire NFL. Other than Tom Brady of the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots, no jersey in the league is selling more than Prescott's. And Elliot trails only former Highland Park High School standout, Detroit Lions Quarterback Matthew Stafford, and another Patriots' Superstar, Tight end Rob Gronkowski.
If this year's team finds a way to win more than last year's 13-3 NFC East Champions or have more playoff success, then don't be surprised if the Cowboys overtake the Patriots in overall team jersey sales and Dak or Zeke battle for the top individual jersey sales spot.
