Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott's hearing to appeal his suspension headed into a third and likely final day Thursday.
The NFL suspended Elliott for a violation of the player conduct policy after investigating allegations that he physically abused his ex-girlfriend in Ohio last summer. Prosecutors did not pursue the case.
The league also mentioned an incident where Elliott pulled down a woman's shirt at a Dallas St. Patrick's Day parade, but officials said the incident wasn't considered when the suspension was issued.
ESPN's Adam Schefter said on ESPNRadio Thursday morning that sources have told him there's a "real chance" Elliott's suspension will be reduced.
Elliott's suspension will likely begin Week 1 unless he takes his appeal to federal court, like Tom Brady did, which would delay the start of the suspension. IN fact, Elliott's attorney — Jeffrey Kessler — is the same attourney who represented Brady.
Elliott rushed for 1,631 yards as a rookie after the Cowboys selected him fourth overall in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Ohio State.
