Admittedly, there is very little to not like about that win over the Saints. The domination – particularly in the 1st half – put my chin on the floor and I was unable to recover my chin until the Saints finally were able to muster together an offensive effort that resulted in a field goal in the 3rd quarter.

Watching, you could not help but consider the story behind the game – the Cowboys were utterly embarrassed last year by the Saints to the tune of 49 points compared to a measly 17 points, most of which was garnered during garbage time when the Saints had shifted their offensive machine in neutral.

Sunday night the Cowboys were granted an opportunity to return the favor and they delivered in convincing fashion, excluding a brief scare in the early minutes of the fourth quarter as the Saints attempted to mount a comeback.

All of a sudden, the playoff talk has skyrocketed into the stratosphere and more literally the blogosphere, as fans and fair-weather fans alike are beginning to strap themselves into what looks to be the first really good year for these Cowboys since 2007, starting 3 and 1 for the first time since 2008. The Cowboys’ victory over the Saints has analysts and experts donning bibs as they stuff their mouths with crow, suggesting these Cowboys are a different breed; a harkening to the old school smash-mouth run it in your face regardless if you expect it Cowboys led by none other than Emmitt Smith.

Tap the breaks please.

You can only play who is on the schedule.
You can't hold it against the Cowboys for beating who they have played.

I'm not saying go out and buy your Super Bowl tickets, .. but anyone that hasn't noticed something different about this years team attitude has not been paying attention.

I have sat motionless while watching the Cowboys since midway of the 2012 season, ... like I was watching the news.
Nothing surprised me, nothing excited me, nothing disappointed me. I had no emotions.

Now, against the Saints I was excited again by how we are committed to the run, and I got nervous when the Saints cut it to two scores.

It was great being involved in the game again.

Like I said, I not buying playoff tickets, but I can't wait until Sunday.

The Saints is not a quality win? I disagree. The reason they are 1-3 instead of 2-2 is because we put them there. They still have Drew Brees, Jimmy Graham, M Colston, B Cooks, Pierre Thomas Etc.
They were the #4 ranked Defense last year and they are capable of beating anyone in the league at anytime excluding Seattle, Denver and maybe a few other teams. They came out and got rolled.

The 24-0 first half was one of the finest I have seen in twenty years, and it was a quality opponent.

I enjoyed watching that Saints game more than any game since Garrett took over. I agree with you - there is alot to like about what we saw Sunday night. The question though is can they continue to employ this same model against every team...can this offensive line continue to impose their will on opposing defensive lines like the Seahawks. The good news is we will have the answer to that question in a few weeks.

Time will tell. I'm not sure we can call this the same Saints team we met last year...but I certainly do hope I'm wrong.

I agree...I am no longer indifferent and waiting for bad things to happen...on both sides of the ball. Im actually excited to see what we can do the next two Sundays, that's a big change for me from over the last 3 years.

There are no dynasty teams in the league any more. Looking for a quality win is hard to do in todays NFL. But we win Sunday that makes 4 wins in a row. Given the up and down nature of the way teams play on a week to week basis, a winning streak like that is impressive. I'll take that. Because at 3-1 and a possible 4-1 record in 4 days sure feels much different and better than going down that .500 record road again.

I think the answer is no, .. we won't do that to too many teams. Nobody does that very often.
We stomped a mudhole on their chest.

But our model is good enough to beat a lot of teams, .. and we could beat anybody on a given Sunday.

Perhaps I'm selling these Cowboys short with the following statement but I'd be happy with 9 and 7...anything but 8 and 8 again. Hell, I think I might prefer a losing season to 8 and 8.

I will be bummed out with anything less than 10-6.

Not making any predictions, .. but I am hoping this is a springboard to a lot better things.

I am hoping this is just the beginning.

Not by a long shot, but I'm with you, that was my favorite Garrett-era game by far.

Co-sign.
Normally, a QB like Brees (NO with a bad defense or not) would have come in here and picked us apart.
I'm riding this train until the wheels fall off.

I'd be lying if I said I don't feel and see a difference in these Cowboys. But we have been disappointed so many times before...like you I'm hoping this is just the beginning, but I'll feel a whole lot better when they are able to get a win against a team with a winning record.

I'm sure we still have a few warts that we will see over the next few weeks, ... but I can take winning or losing better from a team that runs the ball and plays tough defense.

I hate cheering for a team that throws the ball early, often, and for over 45-50 times a game.

This team got my attention when we fell behind 21-0 and DID NOT abandon the run.

Right, we all will.

But until we play that team we can't hold it against them for beating who they play.

If ever there was proof that the Cowboys are committed to running the ball this year, that served as notice for certain. Like I said, I am absolutely loving what we have seen so far, but I'm going to need to see more before I start thinking playoffs.
