Don Banks re-drafted the 2013 NFL draft yesterday. In his redraft, both Travis Frederick and Terrance Williams are long gone by the time the Cowboys make their selection with the 31st pick.

Don Banks of SI.com has never been suspected of harboring even the faintest little bit of pro-Cowboys bias. Quite the opposite, in fact. Which make it all the more interesting to see that two Cowboys draft picks make it into the first round of Don Banks' re-draft of the 2013 NFL draft.

Banks has Travis Frederick going to the Chicago Bears with the 20th overall pick:

Though some considered him to have gone too high, Long proved to be a very solid choice for the Bears and helped improve their problematic offensive line. We could easily stand pat with him to Chicago at No. 20. But Frederick, taken 31st by Dallas, was an even better find, and premium centers seem more difficult to find these days than premium guards. The Cowboys earned quite a bit of derision when Frederick's name was called on draft night, but the joke was on everybody but Dallas.

Frederick replaces the Bears' original pick, OG Kyle Long, who stays in the first round, dropping just two spots to the Atlanta Falcons. A little further down, Banks has Terrance Williams going to the Texans with the 27th pick, after their original pick DeAndre Hopkins is taken by the Colts at No. 24 in this mock re-draft.

By season's end Williams had emerged as a reliable and oft-targeted weapon for Tony Romo in Dallas, where he was second only to Dez Bryant in terms of receiving yardage at wide receiver. The Texans wouldn't be in position to re-select Hopkins in this scenario, but Williams' rookie-year production (44 catches for 736 yards and five touchdowns) would have aided the cause downstate in Houston. Every facet of Williams' game showed steady improvement last season, and he's got solid No. 2 receiver potential.

With both Frederick and Williams gone, Banks has the Cowboys taking OG Chance Warmack with the 31st pick, to where Warmack fell in this re-mock.

The right guard position proved somewhat problematic this season, with Mackenzy Bernadeau starting 11 games and Brian Waters the other five, before a triceps tear cut his year short. With Frederick unavailable at this point, Warmack, who went No. 10 to Tennessee, is a solid, building-block component to add to the Dallas offensive front.

At the very top of the draft, Banks has two third-round picks slotted at number two and three: Keenan Allen and Larry Warford. The hindsight draftnik crowd has been salivating over these two players for a while now, and they'll never tire of telling you how much the Cowboys suck for not drafting either player, all the while conveniently ignoring the fact that most teams skipped twice on either player, with the supposed paragons of successful drafting, the 49ers, even passing on them three times. Because Allen, Warford and a few other later-round picks move up into the first round in this re-draft, other first-round players drop out of the first.

While I wouldn't mind Warmack on my team now, I wonder if Banks made the best pick for the Cowboys in selecting Warmack. There's one more player in this re-draft taken after the Cowboys' pick, OT Eric Fisher, and 12 first-round picks who did not make the cut in this re-draft.
