I will say last year Dak looked very awkward running, almost clumsy like. Let's hope Dak can move like he did prior to the injury this year

If he could throw the rock like Rodgers or Brady, or Mahomes, his legs would be irrelevant. Mediocre thrower, runner, and football acumen......still doesn't mean they can't get to a SB if the rest of the team is dominant

All questions regarding if Dak can ever reach the next level will always be tempered by did the line stay healthy & cut down on penalties? Did Zeke & Tony run rampant against the other teams? Did our WRs & TEs stand out as some of the top at their craft in the league?

AND, did KM show that he is a premier OC? Dak is a good player who has all the gifts required to step up to the next level. Dallas is blessed to have back-to-back decent QB's.

My glasses are clear, but I do need them at times.
My rose color glasses broke, Jerry broke them by keeping Garrett too long. :muttley:

The Garrett disaster is one thing most of us we can agree on. The only thing worse that I've seen was the Bengals keeping Marvin Lewis for 15 years with an 0-7 playoff record

Ironically...........Dak reaching that NEXT level has less to do with Dak and more to do with the players around him.

It will be impossible for Dak to take the next step unless the Oline holds up.

Yes, that OL needs to be fixed. For Dak as well as the running game. And for Moore to call a balanced game as he did at first last season. Maybe he did all season, but just didn't seem like it in the second half.

Dak now a year plus fully recovered, and an off-season to focus on football and not rehab / recovery and football.

Im a Dak fan and some of what you say is true but Dak has room to improve with processing things quicker and getting balls to receivers in stride. and knowing when to tuck it and run those things are individual. He also gets greedy at times and knowing when thats a good idea versus taking the sure underneath would put the team in a better spot to succeed

I will answer #2. Will the lack of player acquisition aggressiveness hurt them in the end? Yes. Teams that lose starters and do not acquire adequate replacements while other teams aggressively acquire new talent fall behind. Unless the Cowboys acquired a dump truck load of god luck while casting a spell on the Eagles, Rams and other good teams in their conference, the Cowboys will wind up with a worse season than they had in 2021.

If you are hoping they just play better in 2022 and that will make the difference then you will be disappointed. If you believe that the Cowboys will acquire more talent once camp begins then you are delusional. And future acquisitions the Cowboys make will be JAGs or camp bodies.

I have never considered Dak fleet of foot so to speak.
I felt he was opportunistic but I never got the feeling he was gonna out run people
I would like to see 2016 Dak in terms of running
What I mean is he didnt look right when he made the decision to run. Lets hope this year is different.
In addition to more runs - called, plus scrambles - I hope his "pocket awareness" has improved.
Recognize when a defensive rush has gotten the better of his OLine....then quickly make a move to escape a grasp\tackle to avoid some sacks and extend plays.

Yah and you can tell..........the ONLY thing keeping Dak from that "next level" is deeper team success. So how much it really has to do with Dak is an argument. Dak can only do so much in that regard.

Rodgers AVERAGED 59 RUNS per season his first five years as the starter.
He returned from an injury-shortened 2013 (9 games); Rodgers ran the ball 43, 58, and 67 times...at ages 31, 32, and 33, respectively.
Returned from an injury-shortened 2017 (7 games); Rodgers took off 43, 46, and 38 times - at ages 35, 36, and 37.
Even last season as he approached 39 y.o. toward the end of 2021 (Dec. 2), Rodgers still ran 33 times.

Mahomes' 4 years as a starter - ran the ball 60, 43, 62, and 66 times.

Prescott's 5 full seasons- ran the ball 57, 57, 75, 52, and 48 times.

For their careers - average yards per attempt-
Prescott 4.8
Rodgers 4.9
Mahomes 5.0

Those are three good questions. Although, I think they can win with Prescott as is, IF the other position groups excel.
