I love that people want to get rid of McFadden, who did what was asked him, yet they want Church, who never covers anyone, to stay.

They had to change the entire offensive scheme for McFadden because he sucks running in a zone offense. They want to return to it, so he becomes very expendable. I personally would keep him as the designated pass catching back...I am over the Dunbar experiment. Elliott as main back, Morris when he needs a breather and McFadden on about half of the passing downs(Elliott the rest). The goal being about 20 touches a game for Elliott, about 10 for McFadden and a couple for Morris.

I really don't see McFadden getting cut. Dunbar is on thin ice though.

Devin Street
Andrew Gachkar
Kellen Moore
Barry Church
Darren McFadden

Without being able to take injuries into account, I agree with three of the above choices.

1. Devin Street - Agree. Needs to step up big time, I believe Brice Butler will take his spot and the team will only keep 5 wideouts . They always stash a couple on the Practice Squad.

2. Andrew Gachkar - Agree. Anthony Hitchens is the top reserve, Damien Wilson and Mark Nzeocha also play special teams while possessing more long term upside as LBs. Re-signing Kyle Wilber also hurt Gachkar's chances and this is without considering Jaylon Smith could stay on the 53 (I have him on NFI).

3. Kellen Moore - Disagree. He's #2 right right now and Dak Prescott isn't going to take that job as a rookie. Jameill Showers spent most of last season playing WR and DB on the scout team instead of QB. He's getting a look under center again during the rookie camp, but he'll likely spend another year on the Practice Squad doing the exact same thing as last year.

4. Barry Church - Disagree. It could go this way but the team appears more down on fellow safety J.J. Wilcox, so he's the one I have getting axed right now in favor of rookie Kavon Frazier.

5. Darren McFadden - Undecided. I have Run DMC on the bubble right now. The team can keep 4 RBs, if desired, but one of the veterans would likely be inactive for games with Darius Jackson (if he makes it) factoring more heavily on special teams. McFadden isn't a zone runner, Alfred Morris is, case closed.

I don't see any of the FB candidates, LB Keith Smith, RB Roy Smith, TE Austin Traylor (tryout player) and FB Mandel Dixon (tryout player), doing enough to claim a spot on the 53 immediately. One or two could sign to the Practice Squad and bid their time there hoping for a call up.

I'm beginning to think Church vs. Wilcox is the safety equivalent of Carter vs. Hutchinson.

Basically, the fanbase is divided and really, neither is the answer.

I prefer the speed/athleticism of Wilcox over Church. Yes, he takes terrible angles, but I think (hope) it can be fixed, whereas nothing's going to make Church any faster.

Cutting Street and Wilcox should be no-brainers. They've soaked up valuable roster spots/snaps and haven't progressed one iota. What...are they going to magically "get it" in 2016? Time to cut bait.

Interesting read. What do you think Zoners?

The only way I see Mcfadden getting cut is if he is injured and cant get on the field. Moore I dont see anyway he gets cut unless the team picks up a veteran qb. They wont keep 4 and I dont see them giving up on Prescott early on. Church is an average starter thats closer to making the team than not, but I get the argument about his salary. Gackar will probably be a bubble player. Street is definitely in the most danger of being cut out of any of those guys.

Lol church is but not Wilcox. Wilcox should've been gone after the last game.

Why not give Wilcox a shot at SS? Be an in the box guy. He's definitely not worth playing at FS. Safety depth is still trash regardless though, kinda screwed. Who else goes in with an injury?

Moore is safe. And I hope McFadden sticks around until the end of his contract. Zeke needs to carry his shoulder pads.

Devin Street is the one that's not like the other, otherwise they all contributed well last year...where do people come up with this crap.

J.J. Wilcox should be moved to SS and allowed to compete with Barry Church.

Maybe it will be a better fit, but the SS still needs to play deep sometimes, so Wilcox's angles would still be under the microscope.

I expect Church to keep his job, but he and Wilcox are both set to be unrestricted free agents following this season. And one may not make it past the Turk before the season starts. Jeff Heath just signed an extension with some incentives in case he winds up starting, but he's probably never going to be anything more than a core special teams player. That has value, but he isn't even a great special teams player.

Kavon Frazier should become the best special teams player of the group, but how will he develop as a safety?

Frazier, Heath and Byron Jones are the only safeties under contract beyond this season.

We need to add some new blood next year.

The chances of Kellen Moore not making this team are less than 3%.
The chances of Darren McFadden not making this team are less than 2%.
The chances of Barry Church not making this team are less than 1%.

what exactly do you mean by that?

RKG, does things the right way off the field. Doesn't cause distractions for Garrett. Team uses him a lot for charity events/DC.com stuff. He's a "face". Garrett's face brightens up anytime he speaks about him.

Interesting read. What do you think Zoners?

I would like to add a few players to that list:

Rolando McClain, heard he is out of shape, always something with him
Lance Dunbar, i just dont see the value of keeping him
Gavin Escobar, face it folks he is a bust or we aren't using him properly
Randy Gregory, dude is dope, he doesn't get it, and i expect more positive tests in the future...just cut bait with him now.

i would almost add Lucky Whitehead to that list, but he showed a little promise, but i would have my eye on him too.
