Last week, I drank the Kool-Aid and laid out my top 5 reasons to believe in the Boys. Read it here. This week, after watching Team USA go from qualification to the knockout stage to still needing help, I bring you the more depressing top 5. Hide your kids, put away your beverage of choice, hide the sharp objects, and don't look down. The glass is half empty today.

A couple of these will be a rehash of Viciousphilpy's response with his own pessimistic top 5.

Ouch . . . that article was either too pessimistic or "realistic" for my taste -- take your pick. There's no question that questions and negative possibilities abound within the ranks of the Cowboys organization and its team nowadays. Unfortunately, seeing them enumerated in black and white really tends to inflict such undue cruel and unusual punishment, however. ~groaning painfully~

I think the points that the writer made were fair...I would have been a smidgeon critical if he already hadn't done a top 5 positive piece previously....

Fair, they surely were. As one fan to another, though, it's kinda tough when you've already endured almost two decades of this.
Actually, I do have hope knowing that many of our rehabbed warriors will return and that the newcomers may make a difference.

Seems reasonable. If Romo goes down or is ineffective, the offense will flounder under Wheeden, then the guru's will clash and it will be game over at that point.

Can we get serviceable production out of the Mike Linebacker spot? Consistency here is also a huge thing.

For me this is the riddle to the defense. As we have gone at it for a while as to wither the defensive line
can be some what productive. I'm not comfortable that they can but I like the coaches and the bodies
that they did the best they could to bring in.

Durant is what he is,experienced and a good back-up. Hitchens might have something by mid-season?
Lee is tough to replace.

They played Nickel 61% of the time last season. That means that the majority of the time there are only 2 LBs on the field. If they can find 2 LBs to play coverage in the Nickel, they can get by with an average player at MLB in the base defense.

Those are legit concerns,
and the reasons to be positive that he listed in his previous article were also legit.

There's a ton of mystery going into this year, no doubt.

I think Carter will be good this year, but it's all speculation until he proves it.

Losing Lee is huge but no where as bad as losing him in season. I would say that is true for any position, yes even a QB. Logic saying you can find a guy or guys that will be steady from day 1 as opposed to trying to find a guy to fully fill the position mid season where you now have to change your gameplan to the new players learning curve.

IMO his 5 positives out weighed his 5 negatives. But by how much is each persons own opinion. And it may or may not tranlate into wins. Just things to look at in TC.
Both articles consists of things we already knew, been discussed, he just put them into 2 separate articles. and actually not bad write-ups.
Everything he said about the defense, and the questions are very legitimate. As we don't know any of these things. Some will get ansewered in TC, but most not until real play in real games. Looks good on paper, looks better than last years end of the year roster. Going to be a long 5 weeks until TC starts to see.

Sean Lee is out and will be hard to replace - boy there is a real eye opener.

Romo's "TWO BACK SURGERIES" is where I tuned out for the most part and just scanned the rest of his parroted typical mediot narrative.

Only with the Dallas Cowboys QB does having a cyst removed last off season and then an ACTUAL back surgery at the end of the year = 2 back surgeries and one hit away from career over.

After reading that article its obvious that there is nothing to see here - move along!

The writer could have been much harsher. There is nothing to get upset about if this kinda thing bothers you.

I trust Weeden, our second team qbs have performed well when pressed into duty. I guess it's not so much the backup qb but the weapons he has with at his disposal.

I'm not sure I understand that. Would he need to justify his top 5 reasons to doubt the Jaguars this year by first posting a top 5 reasons to believe list?

My point being that is was a trashing article in a sense...so, if someone starts saying something about your family, you get in there face - only I can get in the face of my family member...so, I think the writer was being fair.....and, I could give a crap less about other teams...they aren't family
