New York Giants (2-6)

Bye Week

Big Blue Morning: Back To Work Dan Graziano, ESPN.com

The Giants returned to work after having a full seven days off. Among the highlights of the down week was the fact that RB Andre Brown is finally eligible to return from injured reserve and could make his season debut against the Oakland Raiders this week. He has been practicing with the team for a couple weeks and is ready to try adding a spark that helps New York climb back into the NFCE race.

David Wilson To Get Second MRI Adam Schefter, ESPN.com

In other Giants running back related news; David Wilson, who has not played in nearly a month, will undergo an MRI to determine when or even if he will be allowed to return to the game. If Wilson cannot return, that will free up a slot for Wilson to join the 53 man roster without the Giants having to release a player.

Giants QB Coach Discusses Eli Manning's Inconsistent Season Sam Speigelman, Big Blue View

"I would use the word 'frustrated' -- not shaken. I would say behind the scenes (is) the one thing that has stayed consistent and hasn't changed. This guy comes to work every day; his preparation doesn't change. He believes in his preparation and we believe in it. That will be the key and has been the key to turning (things) around." - Sean Ryan, Giants QB coach

Darrel Young Has Three Touchdowns As Commanders Slip Chargers In OT ESPN.com

Two carries all season and three touchdowns in his three year career, but on Sunday the Commanders fullback turned into a scoring machine as Washington outlasted San Diego. Oh yeah, the Commander defense also stepped up on a critical goal line stand.

Goal Line Stand Might Have Saved Season John Keim, ESPN.com

Less than a yard dictated the future of the Washington Commanders' season. Three plays that could reshape a season-gone-bad. Or, perhaps, lead to an unofficial elimination loss, followed by weeks of frustration and speculation. Which is not what anyone in the Commanders' organization had in mind just two months ago.

Commanders Unexpected Hero- David Amerson Mark Tyler, Hog's Haven

The rookie DB has faced many challenges during his first season in the league and struggled again against the Chargers, but when it was needed, David Amerson stepped up to make a play, one that might have helped save the season for Mike Shanahan's charges.

After Criticism, All Is Well Between Garcon And Commanders Chuck Carroll, washington.cbslocal.com

“I think Pierre just speaks his mind. He was a little disappointed after the game [last week in Denver]. He’s a team player, but he’s been like that since he’s been here.” - Mike Shanahan on Pierre Garcon calling out his teammates

On Thursday Washington will visit the Minnesota Vikings

Nick Foles Throws Record Tying 7 TDs As Eagles Rip Raiders ESPN.com

Did you see the coverage from the Oakland secondary? That wasn't the M&M boys that used to patrol the defensive backfield for the silver and black. Just sayin'.

Chip Kelly: Eagles Starting QB Still Based On Health Brandon Lee Gowton, Bleeding Green Nation

So, Foles is the Eagles starting quarterback moving forward, right? Well, not so fast. Despite the brilliant performance, Kelly wouldn't officially commit to a starter, claiming that the starting quarterback decision is still "based on health".

I don't know about you, but if I threw seven touchdowns in one game and was still fighting for a starting job, I would start to wonder about my long term future with the team.

Cooper Big Part Of Foles Day Chris McPherson, Philadelphia Eagles.com

In the Eagles' last two road games, Cooper has nine receptions for 259 yards (28.8 yards per catch) and four touchdowns. For good measure, he even took a lateral from Foles in the third quarter for an 18-yard gain on the ground.

Chip Kelly Lauds Overall Team Performance Dan Klausner, Philadelphia Eagles.com

“I thought it was a good game overall by everybody. I thought the defense did a really good job. I know they were on the field for a lot of times when the (Raiders) converted third downs, but they (held up), especially in the red zone. I thought we covered kicks really well against an explosive kick team. I thought it was a really good team performance.” - Chip Kelly

This week Philadelphia will pay a call on the Green Bay Packers.
