What unlikely events do the BTB staff expect to take place when the Cowboys face off with the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East Championship game?
When the Blogging The Boys staff gathered in the lobby of our virtual office this week to discuss the Cowboys/Eagles Matchup, we talked about several bold predictions of what would take place as the two teams clash at AT&T Stadium Sunday night on NBC. Here's what we discussed.
Joey Ickes: James Hanna will have ~4 Catches for 60+ yards and a TD.
There were multiple reports last year out of Valley Ranch that talked about how Kyle Orton and James Hanna were tearing up the Cowboys starting defense during scout team reps. This chemistry will be key to the Cowboys moving the ball on some play action looks off of the zone run game that DeMarco Murray has been so successful with this year.
Dave Halprin: Dwayne Harris will return a kickoff for a touchdown that will change the momentum and spark a Cowboys comeback win.
We've been missing the extra spark that Harris had been providing the Cowboys. Heck, he just about won the first Commanders game on his own. This week, he returns from injury and shows why he's one of the elite special teams players in the league but rescuing a moribund Cowboys team and totally changing the direction of the game.
Rabblerousr: Cowboys win 44-6.
'Nuff said.
One Cool Customer: A rookie miracle in Dallas:
Gavin Escobar and Terrance Williams will have two TDs between them, Jeff Heath and J.J. Wilcox will combine for two INTs, and Travis Frederick will spring DeMarco Murray for a TD.
Dawn Macelli: Tyler Clutts is instrumental.
Proving his worth and securing a slot on the 90-man camp roster, fullback Tyler Clutts is able to neutralize DeMeco Ryans, allowing DeMarco Murray to have another outstanding day. This opens up play action for Kyle Orton, who proceeds to make Cole Beasley a household name.
Tom Ryle: The 12 package finally goes full throttle.
Relying on his chemistry with James Hanna and Gavin Escobar, from all that scout team work, Kyle Orton uses tight end patterns off play action to carve up the Eagles secondary. DeMarco Murray is effective but is mostly valuable because he keeps the linebackers up and Orton throws for 312 yards and 3 TDs.
KD Drummond: Defcon 1.
What say you BTB, what are your Bold Predictions for the Cowboys third consecutive week 17 chance to win the division?
