The Dallas Cowboys felt it necessary to bolster their running back stable and have now made a trade with the Seattle Seahawks. Christine Michael is on his way to the Cowboys.

The Dallas Cowboys have wasted zero time in trying to better their football club before the season opener against the New York Giants. Today, the Cowboys' brass got on the horn to find a solution to their question marks at running back. Dallas has been rather confident in Joseph Randle, Darren McFadden, and Lance Dunbar this offseason but that doesn't keep a team from constantly churning the roster. According to Adam Schefter, the Cowboys have traded a conditional draft pick in 2016 for the rights to Christine Michael.

Christine Michael was a second-round pick in 2013 out of Texas A&M for the Seattle Seahawks. For the Aggies, Michael came in for the 2009 season and amassed 844 yards on 166 carries with a 5.08 yard average. Then in 2010, Michael rushed for 631 yards and four touchdowns before cracking his tibia to end his season. The following year, Michael tore his left ACL, which was devastating, but had a huge standout performance where he added 230 yards and three touchdowns at AT&T Stadium in a loss to the Razorbacks. Michael was hoping he would bounce back in his senior season but he was very much overshadowed by the Johnny Manziel hype-train and had a few off the field issues that got him placed squarely into Kevin Sumlin's dog house.

Michael was very much one of the more talked about running backs entering the 2013 NFL Draft. He dazzled the Seahawks with his top-end SPARQ rating of 152.1. It's no secret that Michael has been described as a 'freak athlete' by many, including our friends at Field Gulls. Scout described Michael as having a low center of gravity with a very good build and the ability to dish out some punishment. He's drawn plenty of comparisons to Chris Ivory for his one-cut ability and deceptive speed in the open field. Michael was drafted with the 62nd pick by the Seahawks but unfortunately had Marshawn Lynch, Robert Turbin, and Fred Jackson in front of him. That's not to say Michael wasn't good. When he was in the game he averaged five yards per carry albeit on limited exposure. Though Michael saw his fair share of injuries in college, he hasn't been banged up in the NFL and has been itching for the opportunity to showcase his ability.

Michael comes to Dallas to rush behind perhaps the best offensive line in football, though he will certainly have some competition. Joseph Randle has been getting the early nod to begin as the Cowboys' lead back with McFadden behind him trying to make a good impression. The offseason competition at the position took hits early and often with nicks and bruises to all the top three backs. Now, the running back committee in Dallas seems to be a lot more formidable heading into the season opener. It's uncertain at this point what the Cowboys plan is for their stable of running backs, but at least with the acquisition of Michael, the Cowboys can feel better about the position grouping in 2015.
