If he starts its by default. Solid rotation guy.

Default = we signed him

No excuse not to make him earn that job. And I do not think beating out Nick Hayden counts.

Looking at that line up I see them drafting at least two DL at a minimum. I believe it would be a priority in the first.

I will even concede the pie in the sky notion that Crawford is a legitimate talent who could start for the sake of argument.

But these two free agent signings are affirmed journeymen that are not that much of a step above what we signed all last year.

Mincey for example was claimed off waivers by Denver. Denver was lower in the waiver order than Dallas. If we are so good at finding the gems, why didn't we claim him last year and not have to sign him in free agency with a guaranteed money contract?

Seems like many are opposed to Drafting Ealy the Leon Lett like Tuitt and Hageman do not grade out higher than the young speed rushing DE..Dallas could use a rookie DL in the 1st....the OL Martin is one of the Safest picks in the Draft....Ha Ha Clinton-Dix could also cure a huge curse!

I was just reading that with the pick up of Shaub in OAK, they may be headed towards a OT. I would not have any heartburn with Dix. But really rubbing my rabbits foot for Donald.

It sounds like that report is calling him chubby with big hands. I'd like him better if they said he had long arms and a personality disorder.

I find it funny that Broddus has been saying all off-season That Crawford would be a tackle, while plenty of us have said that would be a waste. Now he finaly says he will be a DE as he always has been ? Color me unimpressed...

I'll be disappointed if we don't grab a DT1 within the first five rounds of the draft. Let him compete with McClain and Hayden, with Hayden the likely guy to be cut.

Broaddus just tweeted out starting defensive line will most likely be Crawford Melton McClain and selvie.
With bass Hayden and Kearse rotating in as well.

So Broaddus says........................... "Crawford, Melton, McClain, Selvie"

LOL

Last year we had the worst DL in pro football. We need to address all 4 positions heavily in the draft. It would surprise me if we don't. From the holdovers Crawford is the only one who could have a spot this year, and that is only because we tend to treasure our draft investments (see David Arkin for reference). The rest of them are JAG's including Selvie, Hayden and specially Bass who not only is a subpar player but can't stay healthy.

Well give me more JAG's that can get 7 sacks in a season. I'll take as many as you can find.

Out a potential 11 draft picks I would expect 3 will be used on the defensive line.

You might want to check out the Seahawks DL.

Yep.

Dallas isn't going to have a "Seattle" defensive line in one offseason. That simply isn't realistic.

They've signed 3 free agents (1 good player and 2 JAG's).

Like I posted up above I would expect 3 draft picks to be used on the defensive front.

I would expect some positive contribution from Selvie and Crawford. The rest are probably "ho-hum".

It's going to take a couple offseasons to totally revamp the thing.
