The Cowboys managed to escape from New York with a 24-21 win.

When Dan Bailey split the uprights with no time left on the clock to give the Dallas a 24-21 win over the Giants, the Cowboys were given a reprieve. They lived to fight another day, and that day is coming quickly as the Cowboys will be working on a short week for Thanksgiving. Of course the Cowboys wouldn't have been out of contention if they had lost on Sunday, but with the way they were crushed by the Saints another loss would have felt like total despair. Now, they're are back in first place in the NFC East.

Which brings us to this week. The Cowboys will get a chance to play a little role-reversal with the Eagles. Philadelphia was able to grab a half-game lead in the division as the Cowboys sat idly by on their bye last week. That really put the pressure on Dallas to win on Sunday, they needed to keep pace. They managed to do that.

If the Cowboys can win on Thursday they will have the half-game lead and the pressure will shift to Philadelphia on Sunday. The Eagles play a red-hot Arizona team that has won four in a row and is fighting for a playoff spot. Dallas also just went 4-0 on the division, the Eagles are 3-2, so the Cowboys can lock up that tiebreaker with one more win in the East.

The Cowboys managed to do a lot of good things today. We'll be breaking all of that down over the next few days. But on a larger level, Dallas got a little bit of their confidence back and grabbed a small lead in the NFC East. Plus, they pretty much dumped the Giants out of the 2013 playoff race. And that's all good.

Consider this just another Cowboys victory celebration thread.
