The Packers defeated the Giants on Sunday to advance to a meeting with the Dallas Cowboys next week.

Well, the wait is over. The Dallas Cowboys will host the Green Bay Packers next Sunday in the Divisional Round Playoffs. It seems only fitting that the Packers are their opponent since that is where the Cowboys left off in 2014 when they were unable to finish the fight. Only now, Dallas will have the home field advantage as they attempt to send Green Bay packing so Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews have more time to make State Farm commercials. Personally, I’m more of a Jason Witten GIECO guy myself.

But this won’t be a contest of who has the best insurance commercial. The real battle will be settled on the field. Aaron Rodgers is “absolutely smoking red hot” according to the whiskered Joe Buck. That’s a fair assessment considering Rodgers finished the regular season with a six-game winning streak where he threw 15 touchdowns and zero interceptions. And he kept rolling on Sunday against the Giants.

The Giants arrived early this morning to do a walk through at Lambeau Field. Their shirts arrived 10 minutes later.

New York started out moving the ball well, but everyone had a case of the dropsies.

Can I get a vine of that OBJ drop, or do we only share vines when he catches a ball?

You betcha...

After the Giants kicked a couple field goals to take a 6-0 lead, Aaron Rodgers would start heating up. His first touchdown came when the Giants defensive line decided not to pressure Rodgers, giving him all day to find his receivers. Then, the secondary was caught off guard when the Packers called a surprise Hail Mary on the final play of the first half. Not a single defender attempted to make a play on the ball.

Rodgers has a QB Rating of 148.3 when throwing a Hail Mary pass (not true, I have no idea what it really is, but it’s got to be really good). Rod Marinelli better put in a little extra time working on defending that play.

The Giants would strike back in the third quarter after their defense came up big with a fourth down stop.

***? 4th down in your own territory? Holy Barry Switzer

The Giants would make them pay when Eli Manning hit Tavarres King for a 41-yard touchdown two plays later.

But that was the last time the Giants had any real hope.

The Packers would strike right back with a 30-yard touchdown pass from Rodgers to Cobb. It was a regular pass, not a Hail Mary. The Giants defense would start to weaken as the coverage started to break down. Here is Rodgers threading the needle to DaVante “someone forgot to cover me” Adams.

Rodgers would shred the Giants defense. Even with the absence of Jordy Nelson who left the game with an injury, Rodgers would find Cobb for three touchdown passes.

Odell Beckham Jr. continued to struggle, dropping more passes. Maybe partying with Justin Bieber was not a good idea.

The Giants are done. There will not be a third meeting. It’s time to focus on Green Bay now.

Here are the regular season rankings for both Green Bay and Dallas.

It’s unsure if Green Bay will have Nelson back for next week’s game. One guy who will be there is Dez Bryant, who missed their earlier season meeting. Bryant and the Cowboys would love nothing more that get a little payback on Green Bay en route to the NFC Championship game. FOX hit the jackpot on this one because this rematch is going to be epic.

What are your thoughts on the Cowboy Divisional rematch with the Packers?
