Cowboys confirm some widely-speculated upon moves..

Yesterday, there was a lot of chatter on Twitter that the Dallas Cowboys had released running back Ryan Williams and linebacker Cam Lawrence. The Cowboys didn't confirm it until today. From Todd Archer:

Ryan Williams was thought to be a candidate in the Cowboys battle to replace DeMarco Murray at running back. Last year in the preseason he showed some moves and excited the fan base a bit, but his old nemesis - injury - keeps halting any progress made. He spent this past offseason rehabbing more knee problems. The Cowboys must have finally decided that as much talent as Williams has, injuries would mean he could never be counted on as a reliable presence in the backfield. That leaves Joseph Randle, Darren McFadden and Lance Dunbar as the main candidates to handle the running back duties. They also have Lache Seastrunk and the newly-signed Gus Johnson out of Stephen F. Austin. He seems to be a bulkier back with big legs and some power. You can read his draft preview here.

In addition, Dallas released Cam Lawrence who has spent much of his time helping on special teams. Over the offseason, the Cowboys added quite a few linebackers through the draft and free agency. This was enough to squeeze Lawrence out of a job.
