Well-deserved.
For all that has gone wrong with the Cowboys during the 2015 season, one thing has remained constant. The elite consistency of kicker Dan Bailey. He won the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week award for basically just being Dan Bailey in the Washington game. Make every kick? Check. Boot the game-winning field goal with 9 seconds remaining on the clock from 54-yards away? Got it.
If you're thinking that Bailey sure seems clutch with the game on the line, it's not just your imagination. Bailey became an NFL kicker in 2011, and since then he has nine game-winning field goals in the final 10 seconds of a game - the most in the NFL over that span. If you're going to play a lot of close games, and the Cowboys have played a lot of close games over the past few seasons, you better have a kicker like Bailey. More stats you say? Sure, he also has 10 career game-winning field goals in the last two minutes or overtime of a game. Say it all together now - that's the most in the NFL in that span. Even more stats? His career field goal percentage is 90.85%. You guessed it, that's the best in league history for any kicker attempting over 100 field goals.
Simply put, Dan Bailey is money. That is all.
