Hopefully Bryant’s concussion is not too severe.

The Dallas Cowboys will face the Seattle Seahawks in their third preseason game on Thursday, what is supposed to be the dress rehearsal. They will be rehearsing without one of their biggest stars as wide receiver Dez Bryant will be held out of the game because of a concussion. Bryant suffered the injury in Monday’s practice as reported by ESPN’s Todd Archer.

Bryant is returning from the injury-plagued 2015 season where he broke his foot in the first game and was never quite himself after that point. He tried to come back and play last season but it just wasn’t Dez. So far in this offseason, he has very much been Dez. He’s looked healthy in the many training camp practices, and has been his normal talkative self in practices. His constant jawing with the secondary has long been a mainstay of training camp for the Cowboys.

He’s also looked great in limited action during the first two preseason games. He’s caught two passes in each game in very limited playing time, and in each game one of those catches was for a touchdown. Dak Prescott has sure enjoyed Bryant’s presence since he’s thrown both those touchdowns to Bryant.

The concussion should be a short-lived problem. It would have been nice to have him perform with Tony Romo and Ezekiel Elliott on Thursday. It would have been our first look at the new “triplets” but long-term health is more important, so Dez will sit this one out.

Additionally, the Cowboys have also ruled out Tyrone Crawford from Thursday's game with the same problem, a concussion.
