Part II of the series examing the Cowboys 2010 draft board and the positional profiles we can tease from it looks at inside linebacker. The position has gotten less attention than safety, cornerback or defensive end, but it will be a position of need; Bradie James is entering the last year of his contract and the team would certainly feel better if his replacement was in-house on opening day 2011.

The Cowboys only graded seven inside backers last year and seemed to take an all-or-nothing approach with them:

1-7 Rolando McClain, 6'4", 260 lbs., 4.7
1-14 Sean Lee, 6'2", 235 lbs., 4.7
1-20 Navarro Bowman, 6'1", 230 lbs., 4.65
3-49 Daryl Washington, 6'2", 226 lbs., 4.59
4-96 Donald Butler, 6'1", 244 lbs., 4.72
6-125 Rod Muckelroy, 6'2", 236 lbs., 4.71
7-131 Jamar Chaney, 6'1'', 241 lbs., 4.59

Three guys with 1st-round grades, then a couple in the mid-range and two more at the bottom...

This was a highlight:

'This year, some highly rated LBs have passed through Valley Ranch this past week, notably, Illinois' Martez Wilson, North Carolina's Bruce Carter and LSU's Kelvin Sheppard. One name not on the list is Washington's Mason Foster, a player whose instincts and production read a lot like Sean Lee's.'

I may be in the minority but I like Mason the best out of those.
