Cowboys getting healthy for the re-match.
It's Wednesday, and as all Cowboys fans know, that's the day the Cowboys return to practice and Tony Romo doesn't. True to form, Romo sat out today's practice as he gets back into his regular routine for the re-match with the Eagles. A regular routine was something Romo didn't have in the last meeting when the Cowboys played on Sunday night in New York, flew home and played the Eagles on Thursday afternoon. That left Romo with little downtime and also made him bypass a pain shot which he now acknowledges was a big mistake.
Joining Romo in missing today's practice starting was defensive end Jeremy Mincey, but fear not, Mincey was in Florida attending a funeral and will be back for the game. The only other player not practicing was linebacker DeKoda Watson. That means the Cowboys may get back the services of a couple of key backups. Cornerback Tyler Patmon was practicing (but was limited). If he plays the Cowboys would once again have four corners they can trust and that will allow them to use a true dime defense if they so choose. Backup safety and core special-teamer Jeff Heath was also practicing.
DeMarcus Lawrence was also back at practice and was a full participant.
The Philadelphia Eagles are also a healthy team minus quarterback Nick Foles. They only had two players that were limited in practice, kicker Cody Parkey and running back Chris Polk.
