Some afternoon news for the Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys may be getting some clarity soon on Greg Hardy's suspension. It currently stands at 10 games, but there are varying opinions on whether it will actually stay at that level or be reduced. On Thursday, the NFL will hear his appeal. Hardy will miss Thursday's OTA.
As we've noted before, Hardy's appeal will be handled by arbitrator Harold Henderson, the same person who upheld the Adrian Peterson suspension. A federal judge subsequently found that appeals process flawed and sent it back for another round but before that happened Peterson was reinstated. The Hardy appeal may not serve to reduce any of the suspension now, but if the NFLPA files a lawsuit after that, we could see action taken then.
In other Cowboys news from today, seventh-round draft pick Laurence Gibson will have to undergo surgery on a broken finger on his left hand. This is expected to keep him out of action until training camp in July. That's going to put him behind some of the other guys who are competing to be a backup tackle. They will get reps at OTAs and at mini-camp.
