Lee has two pro bowl appearances. Google is your friend
Errr, errr.....and both times it was for as an alternate for an injured player. So basically he has 0 pro bowls and No way should he be considered for HOF

That Frederick guy was a reach when he was drafted. The Cowboys could have have gotten him much later like the 3 round. Everyone knows you don't draft a center in the first 2 rounds. What a wasted pick and a reach. At least that is what the so called experts and media said at the time.

Dez Bryant lead the league in tds with 16 on a run first offense with an 1800 yard rusher. If you don't think that's dominant then you're insane

If you think Dez can get in on his current resume' I think you have rose colored glasses on. Dez has got a long way to go to have ANY chance of getting in the hall of fame.

At this point, Romo has a much better chance to get in than Dez.......and I love Bryant. He needs quite a few above average seasons to even be in the conversation :(

Even tryon smith at the time didn't get a lot of predraft hype. But that might be because of how stacked that draft was in the first 15 picks. The qbs other than newton all turned out to be busts, with all pros selected everywhere around them.

Dez could get in if he was a huge factor in a couple of Super Bowls, or he plays for a long time at the same level and threatens some career records. Other than that, there are tons of players a hell of a lot better than him who haven't gotten in.

I'm not changing my responses. I'll stick with it. Something you need to accept. Jason has been out coached and has had an opportunity to take Dallas far into the playoffs but he hasn't.

There are coaches that had the same amount of talent that Jason has or similar and still won the big one.

It's obvious the game is a team sport but coaching plays a significant aspect as well.
I agree with some of your reasoning dwight I just think Garrett's gona take us there.
I see the growth in him and the team.COTY aint chopped liver

I don't think Dez is even in the conversation. He isn't dominant enough to be considered elite. His only chance would be to shatter records based on longevity. He makes too much money to be here for another contract unless he takes a pay cut. I dont see it ever happening.

I agree.
His only shot would be based off Touchdowns.
He is at 67 right now. If he can get 10-13 for the next 3 years he'll be at or over 100 TDs. So far, almost every receiver with over 100 TDs is in the HoF.

That being said, not really seeing him in there.

No because Dez is still playing and can change his future. Tony is finished with his.

Anyone thinking Witten is not a stone cold lock for the HOF is a football idiot. NOW first ballot? would depend on who is up for the HOF that year. He SHOULD be since he has been called one of the best TE's of all time and has been in the conversation as the best TE in football for more than ten years; two vital areas that the selectors look for. Catches are not everything; especially for a TE.
Now the rest: right now Martin has the best shot since he STARTED as an all pro and that will be remembered. he has been in the debate as the best Guard in the league so far every year. If he can keep that up for about 5 more years then he will get in. Tyron started out at RT and had some growing pains; but the last few years he has been considered one of the best. He needs about 5 more years of that kind of play. Fredbeard like Martin started out really hot and if he can like the other two make it to the ten year mark at the same level he will get in.

Dez. Unless he has a couple of SBs that really shine no he will not. Just the reality of how many WRs have put up similar numbers.

Lee also no chance. Too old now; he would need at least 7-8 more years like the last two and that will not happen.

Dak and Zeke should not even be in this debate.

Yep, do you?

Start <> Finish
HOF <> Non-HOF

"HOF start" <> oxymoron

If you're not up for talking about HOF chances early into a player's career--that's totally fine. But that doesn't mean everyone who is is a homer. For example: I'll say OBJ is looking like a solid HOF bet--and I hate him and the Giants.

(sigh)

An oxymoron is a contradictory term like "jumbo shrimp" or "open secret", or a phrase like "I am busy doing nothing."

The Hall of Fame is about long careers of sustained excellence. It has nothing to do with single years, starts of careers, or even finishes of careers. Otherwise, we'd see Bo Jackson, Herschel Walker, Barry Foster, Natrone Means, George Seifert, etc, in the Hall of Fame.

The point is, Hall of Fame careers are not defined by a good "start". They are a compilation over time.

Hence, the oxymoron.
