The reigning division champs are being slept on.
Last season saw the Dallas Cowboys win their third division title in five years, and it was without question the most surprising of the trio.
Dallas fell into a 3-4 hole to begin the season, traded for Amari Cooper, lost again, and then started cooking with gas. They would win all but one of their final eight games, experience success in the postseason, and were one of the NFL’s final eight teams. That’s not a horrible season.
This miraculous run featured an NFC East title for the Cowboys and that’s where things ultimately start for football teams. The first objective is generally to win your division and hope that you can stack more success on top of that. As fate would have it, the Cowboys aren’t favored to repeat as division champions in 2019, at least according to SuperBook USA.

The non-Cowboys teams within the division have been fairly active during free agency. Philadelphia continued their Roseman-like antics and acquired players like Malik and DeSean Jackson. Washington traded for quarterback Case Keenum and landed safety Landon Collins. The Giants traded away Odell Beckham Jr. and no one understands anything they’re doing.
Dallas may have won the NFC East but they weren’t the only playoff team from it as the Eagles also danced (and won) in the postseason. They won the Super Bowl just two years ago and have a quarterback many believe in now firmly at the helm, it’s fair to believe they’ll be good again.
For some time now the Cowboys have failed at repeating success in consecutive years. Whether they can do it in 2019 remains to be seen, for now we know at least one book doesn’t believe they can pull off two straight division championships.
