With the New Orleans Saints as the next team on the Cowboys schedule, they need to figure out a way to slow down Drew Brees, Jimmy Graham and the offensive unit. They might just be getting help in the nick of time. All-Everything pass rusher DeMarcus Ware returned to the Cowboys practice field today for the first time since he injured his thigh three games ago. Ware was limited in practice, but at least he was out there.
But just as that good news comes in, the Cowboys got some possible bad news. Jason Hatcher's stingers are pretty severe, enough so that his availability for Sunday is in question.
Hatcher suffered nerve damage in the neck area and doesn't have enough strength in his arm to practice, let alone play in a game.
"This thing is kind of stressful and I lost all the strength in my arm," Hatcher said Wednesday. "So it's getting better day by day and hopefully I'll be out there with D-Ware this weekend."
Ware has encountered nerve issues in his neck/shoulder area in the past, but it's nothing like what Hatcher is experiencing.
That would be a shame if Ware could return only to have Hatcher unavailable.
Dez Bryant also missed practice today due to tightness in his back but the receiver says it was just precautionary and he plans to play this week.
The rest of the players who missed practice today: Miles Austin, Morris Claiborne, J.J. Wilcox and DeVonte Holloman. Nick Hayden and George Selvie were both limited today.
