A summary:
DeMarco Murray was practicing today after being held out by Jason Garrett and the coaching staff for the Lions game. Word is that Murray was cleared to play last week. Surely he will play this week.
Barry Church was also practicing which is a huge plus if he can play. The Cowboys are hurting in the secondary, his presence would be very important for a unit that has had issues recently.
DeMarcus Ware was absent from the team drills in the media portion of the practice, leaving his status up in the air for this week. The original expectation was three to four weeks and this week would make three. Despite prior proclamations of making it back much earlier, it seems he will likely time his return with the initial estimates.
Miles Austin is also not participating in practice but is working on the sidelines.
In bad news for the secondary, J.J. Wilcox was absent from practice as was Morris Claiborne. With Claiborne, the expectations are he will miss a couple of games leading into the bye week. When Wilcox will return is still unknown but he wasn't at practice today.
Also missing were DeVonte Holloman and Danny McCray.
Of course Brian Waters was missing although the Cowboys have yet to place him on IR. That should happen at some point this week.
