The Cowboys returned to work today, preparing for their Week 16 clash with the Commanders.

In what has to be the most overused term ever connected with a football team, I will now proceed to use the phrase "hamstring injury" once again. Yes, Cowboys wide receiver Terrance Williams missed practice today with a hamstring injury. For those of you who would like to keep count, the Mothership has already done the work:

For those keeping track, Sean Lee, Justin Durant, Morris Claiborne, Dwayne Harris, Bruce Carter, Barry Church, Miles Austin, Danny McCray, Lance Dunbar, Dez Bryant, Gavin Escobar and now Williams have all dealt with hamstring problems for varying amounts of time.

The Cowboys did sign Michael Spurlock and he would likely take over the kickoff return duties if Williams can't go, who was taking them over for Dwayne Harris who missed practice with - all together now - a hamstring injury.

Others missing practice included DeMarcus Ware, George Selvie, Ernie Sims, Sean Lee and Morris Claiborne. Lee is all but ruled out for this week and Claiborne has said he won't play. On the positive side of things, Bruce Carter returned to the practice field.

The Cowboys added defensive lineman Frank Kearse to the roster from the Titans practice squad.

A seventh-round pick of the Miami Dolphins in 2011, Kearse played in 14 games with the Carolina Panthers in 2011-12 and had 23 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He was cut by the Panthers over the summer and had been on Tennessee's practice squad since Nov. 26. If he plays Sunday against the Washington Commanders he would be the 19th defensive linemen the Cowboys have suited up this season.
