The Cowboys welcome the Commanders to AT&T Stadium Sunday night with a relatively healthy roster. Miles Austin has been practicing regularly all week and has let everyone know he feels fine and should be in the lineup on Sunday night. Jason Hatcher is also listed as probable and should also be on the field for the game. The Cowboys will be without Lance Dunbar and Edgar Jones, two guys who had roles on special teams. And linebacker Justin Durant is questionable with a groin injury. The combination of those two things led the Cowboys to promote linebacker Cameron Lawrence to the 53-man roster, filling the spot left open by Will Allen. Lawrence can play special teams on a number of different coverage and return units as well as help back up at linebacker if Durant can't play.
In other injury news, the Cowboys have nothing definitive to say about Jay Ratliff, it sounds like he won't be active next week but the Cowboys will start evaluating him for a return.
According to sources, the Cowboys do not anticipate activating Ratliff next week and the team needs to see first-hand what kind of condition he is in. Ratliff suffered a hamstring injury in the team's conditioning test in Oxnard, Calif., in July and also spent training camp increasing his rehab from sports hernia surgery last December. Coach Jason Garrett said it is "hard to determine," whether Ratliff is days or weeks away from returning to the field.
